Episode complete credited cast:

The gang, after rebuking Raj's attempt of a social gathering in the form of a murder mystery dinner party, are surprised that they actually like Raj's latest idea: an intellectual scavenger hunt based on those held at post-secondary institutions. Even Penny likes the idea, but no one, including Leonard, seems to like the idea of being partnered with her, who they see as the liability among the group. Randomly drawing names, Sheldon and Penny are partnered, Leonard and Bernadette are partnered, and Howard and Amy are partnered. In their "hunt", Sheldon and Penny continue their intellectual versus gut instinct approaches to deciphering the clues. Leonard remains focused on how he will make it up to Penny for not wanting to be her partner, while Bernadette shows her killer instinct in game playing. And Howard and Amy, who have not spent much time alone together, try to find if there is anything to their friendship beyond their indirect association through the others in the group. ... Did You Know?

While riding with Howard, Amy looks through his MP3 player and makes fun of him for listening to Weird Al Yankovic. In reality, Mayim Bialik is actually a huge Weird Al fan. See more »

In "the scavenger hunt vortex" Penny wears a purple-black shirt. In the car scenes her shirt appears light pink and red. This is because for car scenes, a blue screen is used to create the moving car effect. The blue color is chosen because no-one's skin color is blue, therefore their faces wont be effected. Although Penny could have changed her shirt, it appears the same purple-black as it did in at the beginning. See more »

[first lines]
Raj Koothrappali: So. Couldn't help but notice. None of you RSVP'd to my murder mystery dinner party.
Leonard Hofstadter: Oh yeah. We were meaning to do that.
Raj Koothrappali: No you weren't, because it was a week ago and nobody came! So if you want to solve the mystery of who stabbed Koothrappali in the back with the weapon of indifference, it was all of you.
Sheldon Cooper: Don't think that qualifies as a mystery. We all knew what we were doing.
Amy Farrah Fowler: We're sorry, Rajesh.
Bernadette Rostenkowski: Maybe we can do it next week.
Howard Wolowitz: Whoa, whoa, not that sorry.
Raj Koothrappali: Don't worry, I can take a ...

Love is a Quantum Event

We experience it as an emotion, but the feeling of love, the desire to be close to the beloved, is actually an unconscious expression of the dynamic nature of sub-atomic particles eternally trying to regroup into the singularity that was their primordial state before the Big Bang blew them apart. While this knowledge helps to explain almost all human behavior, it is completely useless for writing song lyrics and Hallmark cards. Don't even think about it for marriage proposals. See more »

Best episode so far!!!
4 October 2013 | by (Sweden) – See all my reviews

Considering how downhill this TV-series has been going the last two seasons, this season is so far promising.

In this episode we find the friends on a scavenger hunt. And they team up quite unexpectedly. To make it even better, most of the characters shows sides of their personalities that haven't been expressed earlier.

####MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS BELOW#### Bernadette's and Leonard's spat when they enter the comic book store, I laughed so hard, for some reason, at Leonard's "Back off!" that I had to rewatch that scene for like 5-6 times. It was something in Leonards voice when he said it, like really desperate, tired and irritated. We all know that feeling.

And Sheldon too, staying true to characteristics, not doing something that would go against what he has said in earlier episodes.

Penny did excellent at showing irritation over the others judgement of her intellect. And with that I mean that you could really see it in her eyes.

The other stuff, Raj coughing because of the smoke, the bond created between Howard and Amy, really made this episode great. LOTS of stuff you did not expect.

Over all, a really good episode, 9/10, but since I really liked Sheldon's bowling ball hubris, and Leonard's "Back off!!!" I give it a 10/10, but that is not an "objective" review then.
