Science fiction from Italy
28 September 2015 | by (Berlin, Germany) – See all my reviews

"Closer" is a 20-minute short film from 2 years ago by Italian director Angelo Licata, who also wrote the script with a couple other guys. In contrast to most of his other works, including "Dark Resurrection", this science fiction film here is not in Italian, but in English, so you won't need subtitles. From the sci-fi perspective, it is an okay movie. Some decent visual effects are included and the story isn't bad. Unfortunately, the acting here is not great and the only reason to watch this from this perspective is Elena Cucci's stunning looks. Also the dialogs of the couple early on are really badly-written, like out of some very low-budget horror movie. Anyway, worth a watch for big science-fiction fans, but everybody else does not really need to see it.
