- Sameen Shaw: So... how long have you and Zoe been... special friends?
- John Reese: Well, I haven't really counted the days, Shaw. What about you? Any big dates?
- Sameen Shaw: Been too busy saving the world form bad guys. Besides, relationships are for amateurs. Guys these days have so many... emotions. They cry, they wanna be held. I just don't know what do with them.
- John Reese: So... you're a nun?
- Sameen Shaw: I'm a pragmatist, John. I go out, have a fun night or three, and then, uh, I move on. No muss, no fuss.
- Officer Joss Carter: So we're your bait.
- Harold Finch: Rather a crude way of putting it, but I suppose it's apt. Our target is a chameleon and probable killer.
- Officer Joss Carter: Just once, I wish you fellas would call with something that doesn't require firearms.
- Harold Finch: Why? Are you not carrying?
- Officer Joss Carter: I know better than to show up unprepared.
- [Pulls out her weapon, Shaw shows hers]
- Officer Joss Carter: You have the nano?
- Sameen Shaw: Yeah.
- Officer Joss Carter: I've been dying for one of these.
- Sameen Shaw: Oh, you can borrow it any time.
- Sameen Shaw: Are you saying I don't look good? 'Cause I think I look good.
- John Reese: You look fine, Shaw. You just look... angry. All the time.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: You know, Robin, we're all fallible.
- Root: Well, not all of us. I suppose it's you that needs therapy. It sounds like you have a lot to work on.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: I can help you, Robin. You suffer from delusions of grandeur, something caused by your underlying condition.
- Root: It's not a condition, it's the future. By the time you figure out what's really happening, I'll have transcended this reality.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: Why does your transcendence require your imprisonment in this facility?
- Root: She has a plan.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: Which is what?
- Root: I don't know yet. But I can't wait to find out.
- Harold Finch: Now that everyone is sufficiently well-armed, I've taken the liberty of creating profiles for all of you on angler. So please, download this application onto your phones so that you can check in once you arrive at the club.
- Sameen Shaw: I'd like to see that profile.
- [Looks at it]
- Sameen Shaw: Really? A yoga instructor?
- John Reese: You'd prefer trained killer?
- Sameen Shaw: The guy went from blue blood to hipster faster than you can say ironic facial hair.
- Harold Finch: I don't understand anything you just said.
- Sameen Shaw: [In a row boat] I've got this.
- John Reese: No, you don't.
- Sameen Shaw: You're gonna blow our cover.
- John Reese: I'm rowing this boat.
- Sameen Shaw: Not on my watch.
- Harold Finch: Given your cover, it might be more appropriate for Mr. Reese to have the privilege, Ms. Shaw. You are supposed to be on a date, after all.
- John Reese: [Watching Carter's date] She doesn't have her guard up.
- Sameen Shaw: You're joking. That woman's got a guard of steel. You two have thing or something? 'Cause, I mean, I clocked you and Zoe right off the bat, but I never thought you and Carter...
- John Reese: [Interrupts] We're just friends.
- Sameen Shaw: Well, your "just friend" is doing her job. She gets this guy to trust her, maybe he makes a move. And we can finally shoot him.
- Root: It's finally time for me to leave.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: see. Okay, Robin, the only way you can leave this facility is with my signature, which you're not gonna get any time soon. You need to start participating in your therapy. It's the only way to get well.
- Root: I am participating. And it's been educational, to say the least, but there's a government operative who's coming to kill me, which means you and I have run out of time.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: Okay, that sounds to me like what we call a persecution complex.
- Root: Oh, he's quite real, I assure you. So, you see, sadly, I need to be moving on.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: Okay. So, um, you're going to escape? Hmm. And how do you plan on doing that?
- Root: First the phone on your desk will ring. She'll be letting me know it's time. Then I'll punch you in the carotid artery. It'll hurt, Ronald, but it won't kill you. Then I'll take your car keys.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: And the guards, how how will you manage them?
- Root: I won't have to. They'll be incapacitated from the desflurane in the ventilation system. It vaporizes at 75 degrees. Which the building climate control has been programmed to reach ten minutes ago.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: Okay, this voice that you hear, she's gonna do all this?
- Root: Of course not. She sees everything, but there's very little she can do about it herself. That's where I come in. She tells me what to do and I do it. Well, she did help me a little with stealing the desflurane from the automatic dispensing system. Don't worry. I closed the vents in your office two days ago. It should have cleared out by now. Do you hear how quiet it is out there? Must be almost time. Are you as excited about this as I am?
- Harold Finch: Mr. Reese, you didn't happen to purchase a new collar for Bear, did you? Or this gigantic cow femur that he's eating?
- John Reese: I've been a little busy, Finch.
- Harold Finch: Seems Bear has a stalker of his own.
- Harold Finch: Hello, Detective. I was hoping you could come by the safehouse tonight. I think I can assure you it'll be more interesting than arresting aging corporate attorneys for driving under the influence.
- Officer Joss Carter: You wanna give me the headlines?
- Harold Finch: Only that it will require... evening attire.
- [Tries to find the right words]
- Harold Finch: What I mean to say is, something elegant, but also less than conservative.
- Officer Joss Carter: Just what kind of job is this, Finch?
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: What have you done?
- Root: Don't worry. I didn't kill them. Like you said, I've been making progress. The man coming after me, on the other hand, will almost certainly kill you, so you probably should run.
- [Hersh appears; he and Root engage in a shoot-out]
- Root: Did you really think she would abandon me?
- [pauses before taking the kill shot]
- Root: Really? Even this guy? I guess you're the boss.
- Root: [Calling back at the doctor] So long, doc. And thanks for all the help. I think I really am much better now.
- Sameen Shaw: It appears our boy's a ladies' man. I followed him to some dive in the village. New image, new girl. Our guy is a chameleon: Organized, efficient, sociopathic... not that there's anything wrong with that.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: You seem calmer today, Robin.
- Root: I am. It's almost time for me to leave.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: Where is it that you're going?
- Root: You know, that's a good question. I'm not certain yet.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: Because the voice is going to tell you?
- Root: You're catching on.
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: Is the voice speaking to you right now?
- Root: Does it look like I'm talking to anyone other than you, doctor?
- Dr. Ronald Carmichael: You you realize that phone isn't connected to a wireless carrier.
- Root: God doesn't need AT&T.
- Zoe Morgan: You know, proving the kid is Ian's may not get Wellington off his back.
- Sameen Shaw: I'm just the safecracker. I leave the messy stuff to Harold.
- John Reese: Where is your grandson's birth certificate? You stole a child from his father.
- Bruce Wellington: Alex has a father.
- Sameen Shaw: No. Alex has an aunt and an uncle who raised him as their own.
- John Reese: I'm going to ask you one more time, Mr. Wellington. Where is your grandson's birth certificate?
- Bruce Wellington: My grandson will never know that piece of white trash is his father. Alex is an heir, not the help. Security will show you out.
- [Moves towards the call pad, Reese knocks him out]
- Sameen Shaw: If you weren't gonna do that, I was.
- John Reese: Anything on the women Murphy's stalking?
- Harold Finch: The missing woman, Jenna Lakritz, is a former girlfriend of his. I'm able to look at her cell history, but Mr. Murphy uses Vanishtext, an application designed to delete his messages as soon as they've been read.
- John Reese: Good for cheaters... and killers.
