Storyline

A Masque of Madness (Notes on Film 06-B, Monologue 02) In this feature length experimental film the british actor Boris Karloff (1887 - 1969) embodies approximately 170 different characters. An acting career spanning 50 years (1919 - 1969) is compressed into one mindfucking movie. The protagonist experiences a schizophrenic horror trip in which he faces only versions of himself in different masks, at different ages, of different genders and races. Written by Anonymous

A huge letdown.
18 October 2014 | by (Ireland) – See all my reviews

I went to see this at the indie film festival in Cork. It was just 80 minutes of very brief shots of various films strung together haphazardly..The kind of stuff you can see on YouTube.

Although a Karloff fan I found it annoying and boring...There were about 12 people in the cinema...One, an old woman left halfway through..

I don't really know what I was expecting but this was very poor stuff indeed. But I did remain to the end hoping it would improve.I went to see something similar on Lon Chaney Sn last year and didn't enjoy that either. So perhaps I should not have gone to see this one either.
