Frida Kahlo was always fascinated by the dark side of life. It drew her, attracted her, to paint it, in all its ugliness. For in its innate ugliness, lies a human truth, much more beautiful, more powerful, than the ugliness. It is this mindset, that this short film depicts. We watch Frida Kahlo, as she paints a brutal, bloody painting titled, "Unos Cuantos Piqutitos" (A Few Small Nips). The painting is based upon a news story, Frida had read. The news article related, that when the husband who murdered his wife, was confronted with her dead, bloody, corpse; all he could say was, "Pero le dio Unos Cuantos Piquetitos, no mas." Which translates to, "But, I only gave her a few small nips." Frida saw the irony, in the man's tears, as he stood over her dead body.
