- Barney gives Ted's Best Man duties to The Karate Kid's William Zabka over the incident at the carousel, and Lily gives Robin a lousy bridal party.
- Lily and Ted are carrying out their respective matron of honor and best man duties. Lily seems to be lax on carrying out her duties by forgetting to hit the send button on Robin's bridal shower evite. But Lily admits that the shower was a bit of a bust for another reason. Lily and Robin try to overcome that problem. On the other hand, Ted is doing whatever he can to be the best best man ever by accommodating Barney's every whim. But there is one thing that Ted may not be able to do for Barney, and that is not to have held Robin's hand at the carousel in the park, which Barney saw. Marshall the lawyer, who, although still on the road with Daphne, is present with the gang in a half stuffed man/half electronic state, ends up being the judge on the Barney/Ted issue.—Huggo
- 51 hours before the wedding, Barney confronts Ted over his meeting with Robin and holding her hand. Ted drops the bottle of 30-year-old scotch that he was holding in his hands. Ted explains he was comforting Robin as a friend. Barney seems to let it go.
Ted plans a poker game for Barney and is also handwriting the table cards for the reception in calligraphy. Barney informs Ted he accidentally forgot the table cards, which Ted agrees to remake. There are 200 of them. Robin is angry that while Ted is putting in so much effort as the best man, but as maid of honor Lily forgot to give Robin a decent Bachelorette party.
Lily has improved her Marshpillow to incorporate a video screen with Marshall communicating through video chat while he is in route to Farhampton.
Robin wishes Lily had put more time in planning her Bachelorette party where only Patrice (Ellen D. Williams) showed up and Patrice was not even invited. Lily was too busy planning the move to Rome, but later reveals that Robin does not have any girlfriends. Lily points out that Robin hates women and they in turn hate her. Robin admits she has trouble connecting with other women, as they are always whining and crying over every little thing. Lily is Robin's only girlfriend. Robin says that she has never been to the gym yet has an awesome body. She can wolf down an entire fudge and wake up the next morning having lost weight, everywhere except for her breasts. Even Lily wants to punch her. Lily decides Robin needs to have at least one other female friend while she is away in Rome. Robin scoffs at the woman with the bangs and the one with the comfortable shoes. Robin says that she was raised as a boy and she does not get along with women.
Lily has Robin try to befriend women at the hotel bar, and eventually hits it off with someone who shares her love for hockey. Lily is jealous and drives her away, and two decide they'll be fine as long as they have each other.
Barney asks Ted to move from his current room to the basement to make room for a relative who had corn on her feet, and to house the cages for doves to be used at the wedding. When delivering the table cards to Barney, Ted realizes Barney is mad at him for holding hands with Robin. Barney has started the best man poker game without him.
Barney has chosen Billy Zabka to be the best man, who have already started the poker game. Even Barney's personal tailor is at the game. Barney claims Ted's actions go against the Bro Code, which Ted disagrees. Ted claims that it is Barney who has broken the bro code by having sex with Ted's mother, which Barney does deny but doesn't accept either. Unable to decide who is correct, the two ask Marshall via video chat to weigh in.
Marshall asks the two to recreate the events, with Ted asked to hold Barney's hand and offer comfort and see if it feels weird or not. Ted admits he still sometimes has feelings for Robin but promises Barney he won't do anything to get between them and that he will try to let those feelings go. He swears an oath on the Bro-code. He will do everything he can to move on and to live with it.
Barney forgives Ted and during a poker game, Barney reinstates him as the best man. But now Billy Zabka is angry at Ted for taking away the title of the best man from him. He vows revenge.
