Warning: Spoilers
And so the many blend sequels of Alpha & Omega began. The ending looks like an Amiga Christmas demo. It's best to look at the Alpha & Omega sequels on Youtube with Bobsheaux that had a row of A&O rants.

Specially made for kids but poor standard
Reno-Rangan20 March 2014
This movie is for kids under 8. I enjoyed watching both the parts, but never liked them. I saw this movie because I was desperate for an animation movie so I had no other option but when I decided to watch.

I can't say it was a very bad because it is specially made for children, but technically it was too bad, poor quality. Good 3D models, but bad texturing and colour tone.

The story as well about a quest which is very very simple. So Recommended to skip it, only if you got have plenty of other choices to pick one rather than this one.

A Holiday Sequel?
brookewhite19983 March 2015
Warning: Spoilers
This movie just makes no sense and hardly follows the first movie.

~ The animation is just as bad or worse in this movie like it was in the first movie.

~ The new characters (mainly the pups) are annoying little brats that nobody wants to see.

~ Kate and Humphrey (Alpha and Omega) aren't responsible parents and can't do what needs to be done to make sure their children are safe.

~ The other characters have no development and are pointless to the plot.

~ The plot itself doesn't even have anything to do with Christmas. It's about saving their son from a 'group of rogues'. That doesn't say anything about how this has to do with Christmas. Plus, how do wolves even know what Christmas is?

~ This movie fails at being a Christmas movie. It doesn't even tell us what holiday it is until the Third Act. Say what you will about the Star Wars Holiday Special. At least they said the name of the holiday at the beginning of the movie.

This movie is awful and even fans of the original movie wouldn't like this. Everything good parts of the movie (there weren't many) were thrown away and in doing that we got this movie. Alpha and Omega fans stick with the original and anyone else just stay away from this movie all together.

Not A Good Sequel To A Okay Movie
maykennon-6463917 April 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The first movie is a guilty pleasure of mine but sadly the sequel doesn't even try.

The animation was worse than the first movie. I know Internet companies that try harder than that. Crest Animation Productions are the ones who brought us such 'classics' as Swan Princess Christmas, The Swan Princess: A Royal Family Tale and The Little Engine That Could. They haven't one great movie under there belt. Sure they made the first Alpha And Omega movie but from a technical stand point it's not very good. None of the characters are developed more and are boring. The new characters have pups but those kids aren't fun to watch and just aren't very likable. There's no pretty howling soundtrack like in the first movie so that's a disappointment. The music in here is very forgettable. The story hardly had anything to do with Christmas and had plot holes which made me start asking questions. Why did Princess suddenly change her mind at the end? Where is the huge army of rogues that they mentioned? Why don't the parents send their pups home where it's safer? Even if you've never seen the first movie you wouldn't like this movie. I don't care if it's straight to DVD movie. I've seen straight to DVD animated movies that are brilliant. (Wonder Woman movie) So there are no excuses for anything. Just stick with the first movie (that is if you're a fan) and ignore this.

What happened to Alpha and omega?
jukosonen29 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
Quality of animations have lowered. It does not look smooth or even good. Story quality is low too. I have feeling in guts this was just created for holiday sell.

Maybe this should been: Alpha and Omega: A Howl-iday Adventure.

Not marked as second part of this movies.

Pups does not feel like they should be pups of our dear wolfs... They are just annoying brats instead of being alphas or omegas. I don't know why but this "Movie (45min is not movie!)" felt more like bad made filler of some animation series what you can see at TV in 7am.

It's just horrible... Sorry to say. I waited from this "movie" even same quality of A&O fist part.

Worse sequel Ever!!!
wolf-silver-lone11 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
I can't not believe this is consider a sequel.

There is NO, I MEAN NO music score. If you enjoyed the Howling "tracks" in the first one your going to be hugely disappointed.

The entire movie is roughly only 45Mins long.. yes we call that a TV Episode.

The Dialog was just horrible.. NO real voice acting or emotion felt.. The entire move rode of all the puns and humor moments the first one crated.

The animation is just not there. pay attention to the movements of the animals and objects and you'll see it for you self compared to the first one.

Just no...

3/10 only due to the fact I may have lol'ed at 2 or 3 lines but that was it. Its sad to say but this is one of those movies I just wish they never made in the first place.

Edited

one last thing.. why did they make it that Humphrey can not howl (or has a horrible one at that) when in the first move he clearly can and its really good... it was Garth that couldn't howl Right.. /sigh http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hED7g51chUs

Alpha And Omega 2: A Howl-iday Adventure Film Review
tohodynasty9 October 2013
I just watched Alpha And Omega 2. (no spoilers)

Animation: 3/5 Story: 4/5 Voice Acting: 3/5

Alpha And Omega 2 A Howl-iday Adventure: Though not as great as the first movie once was to me (though I still like it), it was a surprisingly decent sequel. The acting could've been better in some sequences but you can't expect much less from these new voice actors and actresses. There are also a few nostalgic moments from the first film that appear throughout the movie and they actually work well within the story. Unfortunately, there are two or three cliffhangers but hopefully will be resolved within the next sequel.

A final note: Terra is probably the best new character throughout the whole story. She seems to have more character than the rest of the newbs (won't say how though).

Anyway, like I said... Not a 5-star sequel but I liked it.

An unnecessary and really bad sequel.
freezing_ice_kirby-113 October 2013
When Alpha and Omega was released back in 2010, its reception wasn't very positive. Both critics and movie-goers alike blasted the film, criticizing it's story, animation, and just being an overall bad film. It managed to find some fans, but it's still a film many people just simply forgot... or wanted to forget.

Admittedly, it's a guilty pleasure of mine. Yeah, it's bad, and it's not something I'd recommend to anyone... but I can find some enjoyment out of it, and I don't think it's as bad as many claim (close, but not quite). With that said, in no way did I ever wish for it to receive a sequel. Honestly, it's just not necessary, and again, not too many people even liked the first film. It's fan base, if one even exists, is quite small, so who's the targeted audience? Why even bother making a sequel, knowing it probably won't sell?

Well, they made one anyway, and because I somewhat enjoy the first film, I decided to give it a shot.

...And what a mistake that turned out to be. Any charm the first film might have had is completely absent here, and there's many reasons why. The story is predictable (even more so than the first), the characters (both old and new) are terrible and useless, the script is lousy, the jokes are lame, the animation is often very sloppy and unpolished (amateurish mistakes that would make any newbie and up-and-coming animators blush with embarrassment), among numerous other examples. For that matter, any and all wolf sound effects (Howling, growling, etc.) all sound like poor-quality stock sound effects, as if they found them off some free sound effects website. The amount of effort they put into this film is... practically non-existent.

The worst offender is how short the movie is. It's not even a full- length film... no, it's only 45 minutes. And considering how the finale goes down, there's so much evidence for me to believe the film was cut short and left unfinished... as if they ran out of budget or lost the motivation to complete it (I'm leaning towards the latter).

Everything about this movie screams "Lack of effort". It's an abomination to viewers and fans of the original film. Even after renting this for $4 off of Amazon Instant Video, I still feel cheated and want my money back. Avoid this movie like the plague... trust me, you won't regret it.

What an horrible deception.
darkzeroreplyzx11 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Not even Dragon ball Evolution made me register on this site to make a critic. But not even Dragon Ball Evolution had this forced history. I can pass that a movie doesn't have the best animation, I can't forgive that a Movie doesn't have the best soundtrack, or the best music ambientation. What I care more of is history and development of the history. Both things this history didn't had. A pack of only Alphas ¿? god why, even I know that an Alpha it's a social status and not a genetic heritage, an omega it's on the bottom of the social status and that's why there can't be an only Alpha Pack, because there is always a lower class and upper class. But well, in terminology of the movie Alphas are in charge of fighting, and Omegas in charge of fun, so I guess I can let this one go. But in the development of history was awful, it was like all scenes were cut. The Dialogues weren't even funny, less say coherent or deep. It was like all the characters weren't themselves in all the movie. Humphrey wasn't funny, Kate wasn't energetic, for the sake of the drama, even physical aptitudes were destroyer, Humphrey always howled good, and now he couldn't in order to give Garth some kind of protagonism.

Let's be honest, the movie was awful, as a sequel, and a disappointment and boring thing as a single movie, as a movie it get a 3, as a sequel, it should have a negative vote -4 should be enough and I'm being merciful. The thing most disappoint me of this movie, was Princess. She was the only Character it made me look at this thing to the end, to only disappear and vanish from the movie, or any sequel of it. Yeah I look to AAO 3 to see her again and guess what ?. She could have a lot more of growth as a character, the same for her relationship with Runt, but again, cutted scenes, an entire season passed and in the end of such time skip, they were a lot more close. What happened in there ?

We can have a lot of excuses for why this movie wasn't even a shadow of it prequel. But I didn't watch that movie to hear excuses so I don't care about any of them. 1 awful, and only because there is no lower vote.

Awesome Movie !
folffy11 October 2013
I am a real fan of Alpha and Omega 1 and now, after watching Alpha and Omega 2 I feel really happy because no one expected a sequel to the movie, and suddenly out of nowhere, appears Alpha and Omega 2, a sequel for my favorite movie.

Some may say that the movie sucks or shouldn't even exist. That's not true, the movie is enjoyable and I would say that it's perfect if it wasn't by the fact that the movie is short, but it's already confirmed that Alpha and Omega 2 isn't the last one so, the movie's runtime isn't really important.

I honestly believe that Alpha and Omega 2 was a release focused on the fans of Alpha and Omega 1, because even after the low ratings of it, they still released Alpha and Omega 2. I am a real fan and I couldn't ask for a better sequel. I really loved the movie and I hope you do too !

Come again?
sweetiepiekira28 October 2013
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was honestly such a disappointment. I will admit I actually enjoyed the first film and when I saw that there was a sequel, I had to give it a chance. I regret this decision.

The sound effects in the film were very low quality. More often than not, you would think they were just random sound files you could pull off any website. But what was worse was the animation! Even amateur animators would shake their head in shame. There were many parts during the film that showed very low quality animation that seemed far from unfinished.

Even the length of the movie was a big disappointment. If you exclude the credits, the film was only 40 minutes long. It wasn't even a full length movie! The story line was very obvious and poorly executed.

The film overall was poorly executed in every aspect and not worth the time to watch. I wish I hadn't even viewed this one. Such a disappointment.

A disappointment comared to the first
Angels_Review16 April 2014
Warning: Spoilers
After falling in love with the first movie, I really wanted to see what the next one had in store for me. I was not disappointed much. Although it was not as good as the first, I still fell in love with the charming story, beautiful animation, and heartfelt voices.

There is only one little problem, the underlining story was not really there. We do not get the holiday home is where the heart is idea that I feel they were trying to convey but instead a different idea. One that went more along the lines of no matter how small you are, you can help in a big way. The home idea gets lost in the middle of the story and I still don't understand what was going on with the wolf called Princess. She just disappears at a point and I never get what happens after. As much as I loved the animation and the story they were trying to place, it does fall apart.

I got a bit surprised at that the difference that the personalities had, Humphrey being a lot more protective and Kate was a lot more military-ish and yet has a lot of Humphrey's fun characteristics. The pups are much more like their parents then the parents in fact. I guess that's normally true of any family though I would of liked to have a bit more of the parents keep their wild personalities.

The pups designs are so cute that I couldn't help but coo at the look. The animation is pretty much the same in textures and the designs although the wolves fur is a bit shorter sadly. You would think since the show is about to fall that they would have longer coats instead. There was also times when the fur of one or two of the characters seemed to change color, turning a bit more white then it should have been or a area that was snowy wasn't in the next area.

The voices were perfect bringing back the voice actors we loved and a few more. There isn't much more to say on that.

Sadly, I cannot give this as high of a rating as the first and though I enjoyed it, the major flaws keep getting in the way. I still think it's a good watch, but just not enough to make it to the best list.

Howlingly bad
TheLittleSongbird2 August 2017
Made the decision, despite not caring much at all for the first 'Alpha and Omega', to see its follow-ups (yes there is a franchise) out of curiosity and as an enormous fan of animation, would see anything regardless of critical reception. Would see anything to do with Christmas too.

Anybody who disliked the first film but wants to see the rest of the franchise to see whether it gets better or not will be shocked to find that 'Alpha and Omega: A Howl-iday Adventure' (the title alone is enough to make anyone dubious) is even worse. One of the worst sequels personally seen to me and proof that 'Alpha and Omega' didn't need a sequel let alone a franchise.

Let's start with the animation. The animation wasn't the best in the first film but it had its decent moments. It however is 'Toy Story' compared to the animation quality here, which is not quite Video Brinquedo, Spark Plug Entertainment or 'Foodfight' bad but almost and on the same level as 'The Swan Princess' CGI films. Blocky character designs, almost creepy expressions, very flat colours, a complete lack of fluidity in movement and less than meticulously detailed backgrounds are reminiscent of computer animation and video games in their infancy, something that one does not expect at all for 2013 even for low budget when technology as much as it has.

Can say no better for the music either. None of it fits with what's going on, stylistically it feels out of place and out of kilter, it's obtrusive and it's not even good music on its own. The writing is even worse, summing up in one word it's abominable. half-baked ideas and any parts that strive to be funny or poignant instead come across as eye-rollingly cheesy or cloying.

Worse are the "funny" jokes and dialogue, which are not funny at all, one groans at some of the wordplay/puns and older audiences who are children at heart whenever seeing animation (like me, one is never too old to appreciate animation and it is not strictly oriented towards kids only) will question the appropriateness of some of it.

Story-wise, there is not much of one at all. 'Howl-iday Adventure' is short but feels longer thanks to plodding pacing and thin plotting. There is very little Christmas spirit either, there is no heart or charm and it all feels very mean-spirited. The characters are never engaging, they are either bland or irritating and some of them are completely pointless.

Voice acting is weak all round, the first 'Alpha and Omega' at least had Hayden Panettiere giving a pretty good account of herself and Dennis Hopper. There is nobody of that calibre here, some overdo it and some act as if they weren't even trying.

Overall, a howlingly bad mess. If the rest of the franchise is like this, 'Alpha and Omega' has potential to be as over-milked as 'The Swan Princess' and 'The Land Before Time' franchises. 1/10 Bethany Cox

This Holiday Movie Is Not As It's Called
jeremycrimsonfox12 December 2019
Yeah, I am not a fan of Alpha And Omega, but seeing as this is a Holiday movie, I had to watch this, and let me tell you, the sub-title is a lie. A horrible lie.

The plot has nothing to do with the holidays. Not Christmas, and not the other holidays like Hanukkah. Instead, the story is about Kate and Humphrey having to save Runt, the youngest of their three pups, from a group of rogue alpha wolves that is led by King, a wolf who is denied leadership by Winston, Kate's father. That is basically it. There are no Christmas songs (or songs about other holidays), no Santa. Only a couple mentions of Christmas, and one scene I won't reveal. Also, the jokes are hit-or-miss, with some crude humor and violence, and the animation looks ugly. Not the kind of holiday movie I would recommend to kids (it gets two stars mainly because of the voice acting being good for replacements).

Just as good as the bad original.
macaronichez2 June 2020
Bad movie. Didn't enjoy the first one much other than the fact that its easy to make fun of, and this film is no exception. The only upside is the fact that most of the characters don't sound drunk at times anymore. Besides that, the budget is even worse, and I don't recommend it unless you wanna make fun of something.

Unnecessary Sequel
daisyisabaker3 June 2021
Only the final 2 minutes had anything to do with a "holiday theme".

Animation quality was a lot worse than the original and the voice actors are different in this one too.

The plot was ridiculous.

i loved this movie so much!
nikozguri9 October 2013
finally, it's out! after like 3 years of waiting with all these fake rumors floating everywhere, i finally get 2 see the sequel to my all time favorite movie "Alpha and Omega"! i almost lost hope bout it, right till August 1st this year, and oh my god i was SO happy. i mean, it's real! Alpha and Omega 2, the sequel to my all time favorite movie is real. i still can't believe it, and finally i watched it and it was so incredibly amazing. there was no part when i got bored while watching "Alpha and Omega 2", cause i enjoyed it so much.

the animation's almost the same with the one used for the Alpha and Omega 1, but this time, it's more realistic cause the characters are detailed better and they're a lot deeper this time. so really, everybody in this movie, they're all likable. i really dug that in the movie and it worked perfectly. and the voice acting was great too. usually when a sequel ends up with a whole new voice cast, it's gonna disappoint to no-end. not "Alpha and Omega 2"! in "Alpha and Omega 2", the actors who play Kate, Humphrey, Lilly, Garth, Tony and Eve sound the exact with the original actors who played em in the first movie. and that's great voice acting right there! even the new actors who played the new characters in the movie did a great job. so big props to them. my only "gripe" bout the movie it's that it's just 45 minutes long, it's kinda short. that bummed me out a tiny bit, i was expecting it to be like 92 minutes long, but it's only 45 minutes and it actually makes me wonder why.

but either way, "Alpha and Omega 2" was a fantastic direct-to-DVD sequel, with great voice acting, solid premise, great animation, strong character depth, fantastic score... i can't find anything bad in "Alpha and Omega 2", despite the short run time. and for all of you out there who think "Ehhh, Alpha and Omega 1 sucked, so this is gonna b even worse", check that stuff again cause you're wrong. You might say it's bad, but you're not gonna feel it. so go watch it and admit you liked it.

Cause "Alpha and Omega 2: A Howl-iday Adventure" is definitely and absolutely... Awesometacular! The best direct-to-DVD sequel i seen in a really long time! i'm so happy i finally got to see it

only 2 words: fantastic sequel!
timberhumphrey214 October 2013
i loved "Alpha and Omega"! i don't care if it was slammed by critics, in fact every bad review makes me like it even more. it was 90 minutes of pure entertainment and in my book, it's 1 of the best movies ever made! now, ever since Alpha and Omega 1 came out in theaters, from 2010 we were promised a sequel to it. and right there, i was like "Is that real?" finally, it's out cause after 3 long years of waiting, i almost lost hope. "Alpha and Omega 2: A Howl-iday Adventure" is finally here and i'm so happy! so, "Alpha and Omega 2" takes place almost 2 years after the first movie left off. Kate and Humphrey/Garth and Lilly are married, both packs are living in peace and Kate and Humphrey got 3 adorable little puppies who're gonna make your heart melt. i love those kids, really cute! so, everybody's happy, they're getting ready for the winter holidays and it's all good, but something goes wrong. Runt, the smallest puppy goes missing, and now it's up to Kate, Humphrey and the rest to find little Runt and get him back home before the snow blocks their way, and they realize no matter where they are "Home is where the family is". and now, i get to watch and review the fantastic sequel everybody's been raging about.

so, "Alpha and Omega 2": yeah, it definitely was good and it was also great! it had some of the most emotional and heart warming moments i seen all year. the characters from the first movie that we all loved, they're back in the sequel and they're better. there's also new side characters and they were awesome, specially the puppies. they were just so adorable! and Garth and Lilly are in it too! i loved seeing em again. Lilly used to be this really beautiful but shy Omega girl. now she's all hardcore, she's more relevant and she's still gorgeous. Kate still remains the hottest girl in the movie. she was ridiculously hot in the movie, and she still knows how to throw down. i feel like Humphrey, to be honest.

the script's better, the lines are smarter, and the voice acting's really good too. usually, whenever a sequel got a cast of unknown American voice actors, it usually sucks balls. not "Alpha and Omega 2". in "Alpha and Omega 2", these actors all know how to act and they sound almost exactly alike with the original cast. sequels don't usually pull that off, but "Alpha and Omega 2" did, and it pulled it off perfectly! big props to all the actors. Marcel and Paddy are back and they're not annoying anymore, they're actually where most of the movie's comedy came from. they do a lot more this time, they're funnier, they're friendlier, i didn't mind them being in the sequel, cause it made me happy to see em again. yea, okay some of the animation in the movie had problems and it need a bit more work, but "Alpha and Omega 2" got some of the best visuals i seen in a long time. everything's bright, detailed and beautiful. the only bummer is that it's way too short, it clocks at only 50 minutes. that kinda bummed me out a little bit cause i was expecting it to be at least the same length as the first movie. but no, it's only 50 minutes and it kinda makes wonder why that short.

despite all that, "Alpha and Omega 2" was perfect in every other way. it was smart, it was cute, it was funny and exciting, i was cheering for everybody the whole time, every single character had more depth and layers... what's not to like here? if you still haven't seen it, go watch it. the best sequel of 2013! (along with "Star Trek: Into Darkness") a perfect 10/10!

Great movie
jhilton09071 August 2014
OK, there is a lot to say about Alpha and Omega 2. It's a great movie but not the best sequel in terms of length. The actors and actresses, were amazing, sounding like the original. Even though the originals couldn't reprise their roles, they found actors and actresses who not only did a great job but continued their amazing work. The animation could be a little better but we got a sequel, so we should at least be happy about that. Kate Higgins, from what I heard, she has a great voice and fits the role of Kate, just like Hayden Panettiere was when she voiced Kate in the original. The only problem with the movie is length, it's too short and still did not expanded much of the story.

As for the story line, there was still so much holes left out that weren't covered in the original. The plot holes include Garth's mother, where was she? Humphrey's parents? Where are they? So many questions were still left out. The story line for the movie was OK, but they should have expanded the story line of the first one, including the past of either Humphrey or Garth and show what happened to Humphrey's parents or Garth's mother. They could have still included the pups, but expanding the story line is a good move because it adds a new story on the character instead of just making a new movie.

The music, I got to say is pretty OK, love how they are using the same score from the first one but these movies lack their own score, different scores add new themes to the movie. Did Twilight use the same score over and over, no... they used different scores in each movie. That's one of the only things this series needs, it needs their own score as well, love how the original is used but new music can help the movie in more ways than you will think. Like they could make a love theme for Kate and Humphrey or for Lilly and Garth. They could easily made a creepy score to when the rogue wolves came in, giving away to the fact that they are bad wolves. That was one of the best things that made the original a great movie was the score. It was so beautiful, it added emotions to the story. My only hope is that in the future, with the possibility of more sequels coming, that they create their own score for them and adding to the story.

So overall, this movie was somewhat well done but still needs to fill in the plots holes from the first movie. This series can do that, all it needs is the story line to be expanded and focus on the back story of characters, so we can see what made and shaped these characters into what we see in the movie. It's also adds certain themes to movies like a character having a bad past can either add a sad theme to the story. I always loved the Alpha and Omega movies, and thought this series deserves a little more praise than it's been getting. The sequels are not bad movies, they just need a chance. There will be good movies and bad movies, but this movie is not one of the bad movies. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but at least give this movie a chance.

A Great Holiday sequel

A really loved this film acting has way improved the animation has somewhat downgrade but it's still not bad the story is good and the rest are okay. I also loved seeing Humphrey and Kate and their Kids which are Stinky, Claudette and Runt and My favourite pup is Runt as he is funny he's halarious. And there is also Great character development on this movie as well.
