Not a family movie
jnewmanphotoandcrafts17 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
This movie is not rated and is filled with vulgar language, teenage drinking, and drug use. It is not a family movie. The movie's case summary depicted the movie as a "coming of age" teenage movie which misleads viewers to think it is a Christian inspired movie. It was even located next to other Christian themed movies in the store. However, this movie is filled with strong, vulgar language and teenage drug and alcohol use in almost every scene. I would NOT recommend this movie. The writer could have made the same points without all the explicit drug scenes and "f" bombs in every sentence. It is a shame writers think America cannot relate without these terrible scenes.

Sincere Portrayal Of Adversity

I want to contradict the other review of this movie. The person was upset because it was listed as a Christian/Family movie, yet depicted drug use and vulgar language.

I felt it was a truthful, raw story about a young boy growing up and facing many challenges along the way.

Life can't always be fantasy, roses and PG. Everybody can probably relate to this movie in some way. Whether you've dealt with the same difficulties or know someone who did; it's a cautionary tale we've all been exposed to.

I believe this is a movie worth viewing, and 2.5 stars is too low. The acting was good, the story interesting, and the ending is going to stick with me for a long, long time.
