Crumbles to dust in the final scene
Infernull17 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
This is fairly mediocre for a revenge slasher film. It's pretty tropey for the first 60-70 minutes - coeds off to a secluded region, slasher takes the group apart one at a time, all cell service is gone (because they can't just cut the wires anymore), a secret unifying the main group starts to unravel, a potential mislead is introduced and then dispatched quickly and everyone left is gathered for a final confrontation. If you've watched more than half-a-dozen revenge killer films, you've got this noise figured out by the time the 3rd co-ed drops dead from poison.

And this is where the movie falls apart.

The real true weak link of this film is the character of, our final girl, Dorit. I'm not going to say she's useless. She's just too convenient. For the most of the movie she's there to be the odd one out (the only black character - get it?) and used to spit out exposition. In the end, despite not being a target (the killer only kills the guilty... except for the two innocent people that were killed), she's there to keep the killer from getting what the big bad wants and I can't help but feel that if Dorit wasn't in the movie at all, the film would have been so much better for it and the ending much more satisfying.

A Bachelorette Party To Die For
ladymidath15 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Like most Tubi original movies, this was good, not great, but watchable. A group of friends go away for the weekend to celebrate their friend's upcoming wedding. Only they all share a dark secret.

One by one. They are all stalked by someone in a wolf mask.

The first kill was done early, then the movie spends most of its time introducing the rest of the gal pals. To be honest, some of the characters were so awful, that I was rooting for the killer. Now I say characters the actors themselves were good and played their parts well.

Did the story hit some cliches? It sure did but it would not be a Tubi original if it didn't. One good thing though, I really did not see the ending coming. It was a real twist that when you look back, makes sense, It is all there in the title, so to speak.

This is a nice little murder mystery with a good twist even if it is light on the kills.

Prey
BandSAboutMovies22 February 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Directed by Danny J. Boyle (My Sister's Serial Killer Boyfriend) and written by Bryan Dick, Prey for the Bride starts with Jordan (Megan Peta Hill) accepting the proposal of Greg (Brad Harder) and all of their friends celebrating. Unfortunately, someone has started killing those friends and will keep it up for the entire movie. Yes, a slasher about a bachelorette party!

Despite the death of their friend Kimi (Maia Mae Fields) that same night, the ladies decide to do a bachelorette party anyway. Brooke (Jacky Lai), April (Lina Lecompte), Dorit (Getenesh Berhe) and Lauren (Marnie Mahannah) go to a remote air BNB to hang out with Jordan and get her ready for the wedding.

That's when it comes out that Jordan had a previous potential husband by the name of Holden who was a total maniac that killed himself in a fire. Or did he? Is he alive and the wolf masked killer who is stalking the ladies and anyone they bring into the house?

They even discover that a game they planned to play has been redone so it reveals that all of Jordan's friends killed Holden to protect her. Will anyone survive? That's a question you ask in slashers, after all. There are some fine kills, but by and large it's a basic plot that you may struggle to get through if you're a slasher elitist. But hey -- I'm all for Tubi Originals and as those go, this was pretty fun.

Fun slasher flick
Segaboi777 April 2024
I'm a huge slasher fan especially from the 80s but it's a guilty pleasure of mine to find hidden gems in today's modern slashers. It's a fun flick and very entertaining. The acting wasn't half bad and definitely didn't feel like a low budget slasher. I'm sure you'll see lots of bad reviews but if you're like me and easily amused by most slashers, this is a great one to add to your list. The plot was decent and had a huge twist at the end which I didn't expect. I can usually figure it out pretty quick, but this one got me. Definitely give it a watch if you can't find anything else to watch. Very entertaining slasher imo.
