The first time scooby made me sad.
18 November 2013 | by (United States) – See all my reviews

My 8-year old daughter and I have watched EVERYTHING scooby-doo. This film is the first and only time she wanted to turn it off, ten minutes in. The plot setup isn't anything special. The puppets feel like a bad gimmick (like they weren't given enough of a budget to animate). Despite reading that it's a throwback to "a pup named scooby doo," nothing in the movie made this apparent.

This might be OK for infants or toddlers, but those who have grown up seeing animated or even live action scooby beware, this will ruin your taste for the beloved characters. I certainly wouldn't recommend this to ANYONE, let alone first-timers. I recommend instead the first live-action movie instead, along with the original animated series, while my daughter suggests the Cyber Chase film and the What's New Scooby-doo series.
