As Jenna moves on from Matty, and evolves into someone new, she asks herself if this transition may also mean she has outgrown some of her friends.

After 3 week, so the show says, Jenna and Colin are dating full-on and it seems no one is supportive of this relationship. Lacey doesn't support it, Jenna's dad, Tamara is very uncomfortable around Colin, and Jake doesn't like him due to loyalty. But, Jenna is in love and because of this, she tries to make things work and hope things won't get weird. However, naturally they do. For one, Matty talks about getting back together, seemingly not knowing Jenna has move on. Then comes this big BBQ Jenna plans so everyone can get to know Colin, and no one shows up but Henry, just to say everyone else isn't going.

As for the reason? Well, it started off with Tamara not finding her phone, then there is Jake who gets into an argument with Tamara, which includes him bringing up his relationship with Jenna and how that ended, and then there is the factor of Colin who makes the situation worse. For those of you who remember the alternate storyline episode they did, pretty much Jenna is beginning to learn toward that character, with Colin egging her on. You see, now that she is with Colin, Jenna is changing. Gone is the girl who wore everyday clothing which seemed more so made for comfort. Now she dresses fancy, accessories and seems to be having a slight attitude change as well. Add on Jenna's friends not showing up when asked and this leads Colin to asking if maybe her lifestyle change should include new friends.

With this in mind, Jenna decides to go off on her friends when they send Henry to say they aren't coming and don't even call, and when I say go off, she really goes in. She calls Ming a follower and tells Tamara the only reason she has Jake is her, since she broke up with him and she let it go that her best friend would have the audacity to date her ex.

All this drama goes down within 20 minutes and while Jenna's old life seems to be falling apart, Matty's old life is flourishing. With Jenna breaking up with him officially, and him feeling pressured to knock out Collin, he has been hanging out with Sadie. To say the least, I love their friendship. It is very much like a comfortable brother-sister type relationship where they tease, hangout and talk about the good and bad stuff going in their life. The main focus though is Dexter and Devon, both of their potential love interests for the future.

Starting off with Dexter, he is someone who seems deeply in love with Sadie and met her at a Halloween party, and Devon is a girl we don't get much info on, but Matty does seem interested and Sadie sees that her and Matty have been texting quite a bit. Most of the focus though is on Sadie and Matty trying to talk her out of sabotaging the relationship before it begins. The reason why Sadie tries picking apart the dude and his potential is because her life has turned to crap. Ex-boyfriend cheated on her with a guy, she got accuse of killing him, being pregnant with his baby and this is on top of her family going broke, selling everything and divorcing. But, being the kind of guy Matty is, he jokes about how cute Dexter is and how she should go with him or he will. And really, after 3 seasons, it is weird that the most genuine friendship came from the girl who was once the one-line dropping villain and the guy who used to play Jenna just to have sex.

Overall, Jenna's story probably needed a shakeup and it is far too soon to say whether the Colin saga will be good or bad. But, one thing which thankfully is blossoming under the carcass of Jenna's relationship with Matty, is Matty and Sadie's friendship. For the last few seasons these two haven't had a huge amount of time together, and I was quite happy to see them finally get a chance to establish their friendship. Hopefully we get to see more of it as Matty avoids the Jenna drama, and moves on with this new girl Devon. Either way, it seems things are going to be Awkward.
