No typical German comedy, but still not very funny
First of all: I did not watch the TV show "Stromberg", I just rate the movie the way I experienced it. I went with minor expectations to the cinema, but I was positively surprised. The storyline was creative, there were some good ideas. Also, the political incorrect mentality of Bernd Stromberg appeared genuine - a spoiled, unrestrained character. However, I really must say, I didn't laugh often while watching the movie, the audience equally. Before the jokes were made, I knew them. In addition to that, there was no gag width, so the hit ratio to make me laugh was very low in this overlong movie. At the end of the film, I consulted the watch many times. Maybe, there were some insiders for the fans of the TV show, but I didn't detect them. The only funny moments for me were the botched actions of Ernie. To put it in a nutshell one can say that the movie misses some shrewd and unpredictable jokes, but has an interesting storyline, which could be funny for fans of the TV show.
