I've got to think 2 girls who just lost their mother (and father a few months before), would be far more upset, grieving, than portrayed in the film. I'm not quite sure how the scene of the "rainbow" folks in the woods fits in either. Seems like it was just thrown into the mix. And the scene where the young guy decks his step-dead did not make sense. Yeah he was scared but he in the fight or flight mode, he had already chosen to fight. At bare minimum, he picks up the rifle and THEN runs. I also doubt that the young girl has enough strength to knock out a grown man with a stick. I liked the scenery and music. For a low budget, first effort film, it wasn't a total bust.
