I wanted to like this
20 August 2016 | by See all my reviews

I'm a huge fan of Settlers of Catan. Been playing since about 2004, own and play most expansions. I'm also a big Joss Whedon fan, which means I have some exposure to great performances by both of these actors. All that to say, I didn't hesitate to purchase and watch this movie.

This short seems to be directed by someone with severe ADHD, switching from style to style constantly. At one point the camera work was so distracting that I almost stopped watching. I willed myself through, but can say now that was the wrong choice. The characters were completely unrelatable and the acting too over-the-top in their mood swings. Eventually I just wanted it to end so that I could say that I finished it. So that I knew I didn't miss some redeeming quality. The redemption sadly never came.

In short: do yourself a favor and skip this one.
