Storyline

Frankenstein consults a hematologist, Professor Abraham Van Helsing, who finds the blood contains an unique property that prevents complete coagulation. He believes it assists in the eating of blood. Frankenstein begins experimenting on Fenton, the vampire they caught and are keeping in chains. Frankenstein is also having to deal with his creature who wants him to create a female companion for him. Chandler takes Brona to the Grand Guignol theater. Gray is there, as is Vanessa, but it's Chandler he is interested in. Written by garykmcd

Goofs

When Dorian serves Ethan Absinthe, after adding ice water to the liquor, it should have turned cloudy and milky looking with a lighter green color to it. This is a phenomenon called the "Louche" Effect and is a defining trait of the liquor known as the Green Fairy. In the scene however, the drink stays the same bright, translucent green it was before the addition of the ice water. See more »

Weakest Episode By Far (for me).
18 June 2014 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

I must say I've enjoyed the series up to this point but nearly stopped watching after this episode. I'm very glad I persevered though, as the next episode is superb- Eva Green at her best. I find the Dorian Gray sections tedious and Billie Piper's character? Well- IMDb has a warning for 'padding with junk' & that's how I see those avenues of the story. Timothy Dalton, Josh Hartnett & especially Eva Green's characters, however, always hold my interest with all their performances excellent thus far. I'm interested to see how the story dove-tails with the classics it borrows so deeply from & as I've already suggested- Episode 5 rewards our perseverance richly. My 2c.
