Very Fun Episode,
lesleyharris3011 June 2014
The Winter of His Content is a brilliant Simosons episode with a very well written storyline with a ton of very funny scenes.I found all the different parts of this episode really enjoyable and fun, seeing some members of the retirement home move in with the Simpsons, seeing Homer behaving like an old man and also the side story that showed Bart and his school bullies attend a gathering bullies across Springfiekd,I found this part of the episode the most fun, especially seeing one ridiculous group after another.Winter of His Content is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

When the Retirement Castle is deemed unliveable,Homer and Marge make room for Grampa and a couple of his pals, but being around this many elderly people makes Homer behave differently.

Funny send up the Warriors is a home run

Warning: Spoilers
While the living conditions at the Springfield Retirement Castle are a part of the story, the best is the parody of the cult classic movie "Warriors. Bart is wrongly accused of attacking the leader of the Bullies, leaving him, Nelson, Jimbo, Kearny, and Dolph to make it back to their home turf. As in the movie, Bart and the boys encounter many themed bully gangs, including the Furries. In order to save his friends, Nelson sacrifices himself, flinging himself at the lone standing furry and they roll down the hill, and out of view. Bart and the crew trudge home.

There they encounter the main bully that set him up, Luther. Bart and friends are out numbered until Homer and Grandpa Simpson ride in and save the day.

The show does well to parody Warriors, exchanging the violence for some really good laughs. The story and jokes are proof that The Simpsons still have a lot of life left, and the writers can still come out with some good plots.

Vile, repellent episode
ChurchillTank21 February 2020
This may really be the Worst Simpsons Episode Ever. No redeeming features, just the bullies and the repellent old fogeys. When this show is funny, it's unbeatable. When it comes over all revoltingly PC, it's unwatchable. This is neither, unless you count the makers' excuses in a previous episode for the bullies being what they are - abuse and neglect, never being just plain evil - as political correctness. Don't waste your time on this dreck.

Okay story, not very fun though

Homer pretending to be old to fit into his dad's friend group and faking being old. That wasn't funny or very interesting.

The part with Bart and the bully initiation stuff was fun to watch in a story kind of way but wasn't funny.

Love how it's not a clip show and they're actually kind of trying here and failing.
