Back in August Henry Cavill shared an image to Instagram teasing the inclusion of Superman’s black suit in Justice League, and now an image has made its way online via Twitter, which claims to be a leaked image from the DC team-up showing the Man of Steel in said costume…

There is of course no way of knowing whether the image is legit, so we’ll have to file this one firmly as an unconfirmed rumour for the time being. Still, if it is genuine, what do you make of the look? Will you be disappointed if Kal-El isn’t rocking the mullet? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

Much has been made about Superman’s role in Justice League. Given that he died at the end of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, perhaps the biggest thing people are wondering about is how exactly he’ll be resurrected. While that’s something we probably won’t find out until the film actually hits theaters, there are a few things that are mostly confirmed about the character at this early stage. One of which is the fact that he’ll be donning his famous black suit at some point.
Teased by Henry Cavill last year, fans of the comics will know that Supes first wore the costume back in The Death of Superman. In that arc, he was killed by Doomsday and upon his revival, he sported the black suit with a longer hairstyle. From what we’ve heard so far, it sounds like Justice League will definitely be »

Warner Bros. is continuing to be very bullish about their plans for the DC Extended Universe. Despite the very mixed response to both Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice and Suicide Squad, the studio is continuing to press ahead with their slate and even expand it, in some regards. They are officially moving ahead with Green Lantern Corps. and it looks like the casting process is underway. Shockingly, it looks like Ryan Reynolds is in the mix.
The Wrap recently published a report that claims to show the actors Warner Bros. and DC are looking at for the role of Hal Jordan in Green Lantern Corps. The list is definitely interesting, as it includes Bradley Cooper, Armie Hammer, Jake Gyllenhaal, Joel McHale, Tom Cruise and yes, Ryan Reynolds. Not only is Ryan Reynolds tied up with Deadpool right now, but he played Hal Jordan in the 2011 Green Lantern movie, which was a box office disaster, »
This ranking includes only new theatrical releases viewed for the awards year of 2016 (for eligibility for the Academy Awards and the Ofcs and Awfj awards); some films released in the UK without Us releases (and so ineligible for those awards this year) may also be included, for my own bookkeeping purposes. 01.03.17: This ranking is not quite final; I will continue to add films and links to reviews through the awards season that ends with the Oscars ceremony on February 26th.

As a kid, one often wonders who’d beat who in a fight. Even adults find themselves caught up in such quandaries, as made evident by last year’s divisive Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. Yes, curiosity is a hungry beast, and while such questions usually lead to nothing, it’s always fun to speculate.
Tom Holland seems to agree, as the newfound Peter Parker was recently asked who would win in a fight: Tobey Maguire’s Spider-Man, Andrew Garfield’s Spider-Man or his own version. Expectedly, the actor believes his Peter Parker would make them all eat their webby lunch.
The question came from Short List Magazine (via ComicBookMovie.com) during a recent interview, and it didn’t take long for Holland to come up with his answer.
Me. Absolutely. Hands down.
Oh, snap! Anyone interested in bringing this show to the big screen?
Of course, this is all theoretical and completely silly. »

A lot has been made bout the fact that both Star Wars: The Force Awakens and Rogue One have female lead characters, but a new study shows that might not be all it's cracked up to be. While both of these latest entries in the Star Wars franchise do have strong women as protagonist, both movies are still quite male heavy. Even lopsided. A new study shows that only 17% of the dialogue in Rogue One is spoken by one of the movies few female characters.
Jyn Erso led Rogue One to becoming the highest grossing movie in the U.S., no small feat that Felicity Jones helped push the movie to the top the box office as the face of this first Star Wars anthology movie. The prequel was also praised for its diverse cast. But diving deeper into the story elements, and what actually happens on screen shows »
Could this be the new frontier for Jason Momoa? Underneath his tough exterior and towering presence -- he stands tall at 6-foot-4 and is literally built like a monster truck -- is a family man unafraid of being frank and refreshingly real about his place in Hollywood.
Momoa has had his share of stardom over the years (he was Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones, after all), but it’s a Canadian drama that’s breathing new life into the model-turned-actor. In Netflix’s Frontier, available on Friday, Jan. 20, Momoa plays Irish-Native American outlaw Declan Harp, who violently campaigns to breach the Hudson Bay Company’s monopoly on the fur trade in Canada.
For the 37-year-old Hawaii native, Declan remains “the hardest” role he’s ever played in his career (and that includes Aquaman). Not the most physically challenging per se, the character’s troubled past and tragic family sacrifice was emotionally taxing for Momoa, who is stepfather »

The latest trailer for Logan dropped yesterday [watch it here], which gave us more of Hugh Jackman in his final outing as Wolverine, as well as some badass moments featuring X-23. The Internet was buzzing with praise for the trailer, but what did the Flickering Myth writing staff think?
Chris Cooper: Seems it’s deserving of the 18 certificate. Sad that it looks like we’ll never see him suited up fully but there’s a lot to like here.
Ricky Church: More than the first trailer (which I did enjoy a lot), this one gives the impression that Logan will blend the serious »

Ben Affleck was noticeably disappointed after the release of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in March 2016 was met with unfavorable reviews, receiving a paltry 27% from the critics on Rotten Tomatoes. Affleck’s sour reaction is understandable, especially since Affleck had been jubilantly hyping up the film prior to its release. A source close to Affleck claimed: “Affleck […]

As Warner Bros. continues to adjust and adapt their upcoming slate of superhero movies, it seems they’re pivoting toward spinoffs pretty hard. DC Films came out of the gate as the anti-Marvel, cramming boatloads of characters into “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” and “Suicide Squad,” but are now turning the other way. Ben Affleck is brewing “The Batman,” Margot Robbie is powering the Harley Quinn-led “Gotham City Sirens,” and now WB and DC want to make sure they are maximizing their use of one of the biggest stars on the planet.

Super Bowl Sunday is just a few weeks away, and while we'll still have to wait and see who'll be playing in the big game, one of the very first TV commercials has debuted early. Wix returns to the Super Bowl this year, with their campaign kicking off on YouTube Live and Facebook Live, marking the third year that Wix has been part of the Super Bowl ad lineup. The ad, which Wix debuted on YouTube, shows a restaurant owner named Felix, who starts designing a website for his restaurant on Wix, while some action-packed drama unfolds in the dining area. When some thugs start harassing the patrons, Jason Statham and Gal Gadot take action, taking down these thugs while destroying Felix's restaurant in the process, »
Warner Bros. soon got onboard with the company, entering into a co-financing partnership, with RatPac that replaced Legendary as Warner’s key investor. RatPac operates as a production company and financing entity, and has a $450 million deal that covers 75 pictures with Warner Bros. over four years.
“Warner Brothers is the greatest partner anyone could ever have,” Ratner says. “It’s truly a family business there, and I know that sounds weird, because they’re a massive corporation, but you get that vibe with them, starting with Kevin Tsujihara. Warner’s has always been like that, and they still operate like that. It’s a very friendly, encouraging place to make movies. I’m hoping to direct my next picture there.”
And the feeling is mutual. “We’ve known and worked with Brett for years, »

On Thursday, Steven Mnuchin, the president-elect's nominee to head the U.S. Treasury Department, appeared before the Senate Finance Committee. Although the bulk of the confirmation hearing was expected to focus on his positions on tax reform and his role during the mortgage crisis nearly a decade ago, his Hollywood connections got some heavy attention with an attack on where his hedge fund's profits from Avatar were funneled.

It’s the Ben Affleck video that went viral: as Henry Cavill discusses poor reviews for “Batman V. About a year ago, actors Ben Affleck and Henry Cavill sat down for a dual interview wherein they spoke about their DC Comics-related superhero film, Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice. The film had just come out, and, had consequently met with some pretty scathing reviews from both the press and comics fans alike. While fielding one of several questions asked of the dynamic duo, Cavill responded with... Read More »

Ben Affleck is probably glad to be leaving 2016 behind. It was a bit of wild time as he became the new worldwide face of Batman in two movies that might’ve racked up hundreds of millions of dollars at the box office, but still wound up on many worst-of-the-year lists: “Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice” and “Suicide Squad.” And it was the former movie which spawned the Sad Affleck meme, when the actor’s dour visage was caught on camera as Henry Cavill answered a reporter’s question about the dismal early reviews of the Zack Snyder film.

“Come on, I’m bored… Play with me!”
In the DC Extended Universe blockbuster Suicide Squad, Harley Quinn makes her entrance as a convict serving time in the Belle Reve Prison, where she is reluctantly enlisted in a secret task force doing dangerous dirty work for the government. Sultry but outright psychotic, the Queen of Gotham City is unmistakably the star in this ragtag team of supervillains, and today Hot Toys is excited to introduce an all-new 1/6th scale collectible figure of Harley Quinn in her prisoner outfit!

Ben Affleck stopped by BBC Radio 1 recently to promote his new film, Live by Night, but he actually opened up a few old wounds about his other recent movie, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. After the reporter asked the actor what he learned from making such an action-packed blockbuster, Ben instantly brought up the hilarious "Sad Affleck" video from one of his press interviews. "It taught me not to do interviews with Henry Cavill where I don't say anything and they can lay Simon & Garfunkel tracks over it," he said with a laugh. Too funny! Chicago – Film reviewing can be a blood sport – not everything is a highfalutin art night at the cinema. The three reviewers of HollywoodChicago.com – Patrick McDonald, Spike Walters and Jon Espino – did spend some time wasting energy on some really bad movies in 2016, and lived to tell about it.
There are no rankings, because they are all rank. The ten are listed in descending levels of dread, with stars like Bobby De Niro and George Clooney representing, as well as superheroes and overwrought CGI epics making the “grade.” The persons responsible for the descriptive honors are marked accordingly, Pm for for Patrick, Sw for Spike and Je for Jon. Cover your eyes and gird your loins, these are the 10 Worst Films of 2016, by HollywoodChicago.com.
