Amazing documentary!
michaeliglesias8 December 2023
Amazing documentary! We all know about police officers through watching COPS or live PD or some other law enforcement show! We see police officers as the unsung hero's of our community but what does this come at a price? What Police Officers deal with on a daily basis destroys lives and what this film does is illustrate the daily struggles that these selfless human beings bring home with them. The countless trauma that the men and women behind the badge have to live with on a daily basis is the showcase of this powerful documentary bringing the personalized stories of several of these hero's lives told in a raw documentary!

AN ABSOLUTE MUST WATCH
bxinbonita7 December 2023
I've watched a lot of doc films. This one is definitely one of the best! Honest & raw, It gives viewers a shocking glimpse into the dark mental battles of our Law Enforcement families. The part no one hears about. You start to realize that this is not all "what they signed up for" and how ill prepared for these battles they truly are. One thinks they know about the ferocity of PTSD our officers face, but they may have NO IDEA of what the totality of these effects look like for the entire family. It's like watching a small fire consume an entire home!! VERY EYE OPENING!! God bless our nation's protectors & the families who share them with us! THANK U for making this film!

Yes. There is something going on at home.

This is another on-target documentary by Jason Harney and Lightning Digital Entertainment. Real conversations, hard conversations with law enforcement officers, families and a therapist address the stuff no one sees in the news after the headlines fade. Cumulative stress and trauma don't disappear at the door when the officer's shift is over; they don't even disappear when the officer retires. This film addresses the way those traumas and the normal, physical and emotional reactions to them wear on the officers and their families. It calls for realistic solutions, to save families and the job.

A must-see for first responder families
thinbluelinewomen9 December 2023
This documentary will open your eyes to the terrible truths behind the lives of a lot of first responders and their families. It takes a special person to enter into this career field. It simply cannot be done by most people and those who choose to do it, suffer in silence a lot of the time, along with their family members. The documentary shows the lives of real first responders and their family members along with the living hell they all went through. They explain in detail how they made it through the tough times, but not without exposing their wounds for all to see and show the scars left behind. PLEASE watch this!

Impactful and Alarming
chadmbruckner9 December 2023
This documentary was very well written and produced. The doc goes into great detail about the role that trauma and dysfunction play on families of first responders, for those who do not address their mental emotional health changes that come as a result from doing a hard job for others. If you are in the first responder or military professions, do yourself a favor and watch this documentary. It's an investment into your own well-being. Prepare yourself for the truth and realities of the job you do, you are undoubtedly changing through your service. Maintaining our families through our service should be a focused effort, not auto pilot. This film helps us to be mindful of our health and to fight everyday to maintain healing and recovery.

Must See For Law Enforcement Families
donnab-982917 December 2023
This film touches on the forgotten side of the law enforcement profession, the families. The impact is rarely talked about and it's there and real. Is There Something Going on at Home tells the stories of officers who did the job and the downward emotional path their lives, and that of their spouses and children, took. The positive is that there is hope and they're each a shining example of that. A film that is open, honest, and raw at times but a must see. Kudos to all involved on a film well done that will have a lasting positive impact on the law enforcement profession and their families!!!

He did it again!

Filmmaker Jason Harney likes to expose things in law enforcement culture that are difficult to talk about or some people would rather ignore. He does so with the intention of bringing awareness and foster solutions. His latest dive here, "Is There Something Going on at Home?" is along that same line and has some extraordinary material for the viewer to wrestle with.

Harney's filmmaking expertise continues to impress and reveal that he's a natural. From the cinematography to the soundtrack, the scripting to the editing, and all of the technical aspects in between, Harney has has fully transformed himself from being a lifelong cop to being a well reviewed and award winning filmmaker.

"Is There Something Going on at Home?" explores the mental well being of some of our everyday heroes and forces the viewer to ask some tough questions. It also does a good job of bringing the lens of humanity upon our law enforcers. Highly recommend for everyone.

Much Needed for families
glen-046507 December 2023
Many Law Enforcement families live the dynamics created by trauma on the job depicted in this film. Others outside law enforcement do not see it at all. It is an emotional film that introduces these issues and brings them to life. The emotional and relationship problems created by experienced trauma are openly discussed in this film. This film is an introductory step to bring awareness to public safety agencies and the world of the hidden and often tragic results that officers and their families experience through divorce, suicide, and other trauma related behaviors. This can be the beginning of a change in the culture of policing and the wellness of our officers.

A Must See for all Police Officers and their Families
michael_d_wall10 December 2023
For more than a century, the concept of trauma has been known about but relegated to the battlefield and only spoken about in whispers and with shame. With the war in Viet Nam, shell shock and battle fatigue came out of the closet as "post traumatic stress disorder" and began to be diagnosed, studied and treated by the psychiatric profession. Police departments, however, have been slow to talk about or openly recognize the toll that stress takes on their officers. The officers too, fearing stigma or worse have often kept their suffering hidden from their superiors and fellow officers. With tasteful and heartbreaking honesty, in this documentary by award winning filmmakers Jason Harney and Deborah Luis Ortiz veteran police officers and their families share their stories of the toll taken by the extreme and unrelenting stress of their careers. This film should be on the shelves of every police department and academy. It could save marriages, suffering and, ultimately, lives.
