Great Introduction to the World of Metrology
mbpridgen-0893524 April 2016
Amazing documentary to introduce everyone to the world of Metrology: The Science of Measurement. History, technology and great anecdotes tell the story of how things are measured and how those measurement units came into being. The fact that there is a physical 1 kilogram standard that sits in a château on the outskirts of Paris is probably unknown to 99 percent of the population. It's sad that this isn't available on a DVD set...and even worse that it isn't available in the US. This would just the product to introduce school-age children to a critical science that most of us don't realize exists--and take for granted every day.

BBC...are you listening?!?

For those who take pleasure in perpetual learning/understanding!

I worked/studied in the field of Metrology in my early 30s after a decade of military flight, mechanics and electronics. It opened my eyes and let me see the world "in colors, down to a molecular scale". I also taught over 30 years and would highly recommend this program to teachers grades 5 and up as a wonderful opportunity to inspire in their students. If you think grade 5 is too young, know all grade 6 students in Western schools are taught "Flight" (and electricity) in grade 6! Having performed (airshows) and taught internationally, I believe you provide a great teaching aid/program here! I highly recommend seizing this opportunity! Very well done!
