Graceland revisited

Loved the mix of artists which represented his mastery of different genres of music. It had a retro vibe which I also loved. The clips of Elvis and his family were special and I enjoyed getting glimpses of various parts of the estate. It was fun to hear the Elvis memories from guests like Dolly Parton, Cher, Jennifer Hudson and Jon Bon Jovi. Although a bit too short and I would have loved to hear more stories from different people around the world. I'm not sure why the other reviews are so low as this was a fun, albeit brief holiday special. The fact that live music has never been performed here is pretty crazy and I'm glad his granddaughter decided to change that by hosting artists at Christmas. Enjoy!

Timeless blend of old and new

I loved this special, which had so many favorite songs, both Elvis and non-Elvis. I have never been to Graceland so I really enjoyed this chance to tour the grounds. The outdoor venues were showcased in magnificent Christmas lights. The indoor venues had classic charm and elegance. It was dazzling in an understated way. The performers each brought something special and I loved the reminiscences of their good times with Elvis. Excellent music and singing. Friendly conversations with granddaughter Riley and the musical guests. The visitor cameos were cleverly done. I loved seeing the pictures of Elvis and the family. It was like being invited to someone's home for a warm and cozy Christmas. I went back in time for just a while; like viewing 70's variety shows, but with a contemporary flair. Thank you for taking us along on this journey to see the best of Elvis at Christmastime.

Beautiful, Respectful and Moving Christmas Visit to Graceland

I thought this Christmas special was just wonderful. It's beautifully shot and produced, and the music is excellent. While some Christmas specials are joyous and fun, this one was serene and peaceful - like being invited to a small Christmas gathering of friends, all set in the tranquil holiday home of a family you know and love. It was strikingly beautiful and at times so moving. I've re-watched many of the performances, because they were so good, and it's a special I'll watch again and again. Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen, because it was a real Christmas gift, and I hope there are more in the years to come.

Shows why Elvis was so good

First the good points... John Legend always great. The rendition of If I Can Dream was good. Seeing some of Graceland was appreciated.

Otherwise: 1. Very inferior vocalists trying to do an Elvis song. 2. Selection of songs...all songs do not have to be Christmas but they should at least be Elvis songs (with 786 to choose from Morissette could not find one, the one she chose free of Christmas joy? Disappointing) 3. Who the hell is Post Malone ? 4. Songs by Jenifer Hudson, Dolly Parton, Cher, and Jon Bon Jovi would have improved the show greatly...and would have more closely approximated Presley talent.

So amateurish

For those of us who actually remember Elvis, this was a real disappointment. Why were there so many non-Elvis songs? It was just weird that John Legend sang a John Lennon song on an Elvis special!

The few clips from stars who remember Elvis weren't enough -- THEY should have performed on the special! I would have preferred a tour of Graceland set to some of Elvis' own music.

Riley should have invited her grandmother to host or co-host the show, since Priscilla is now the only living Presley with firsthand memories of Elvis.

Next year, I hope the family will think about giving viewers a tour of Graceland and its Christmas decorations.
