Like each good horror, it reflects the influence of Gothic stories. in same measure, it is a parable about greed. nothing new. but enough for give a coherent, convincing moral . a man, his wife, a ranch. and an oak. the good performances. the atmosphere. and the story as warning about each form of addiction. I admit, it is a beautiful horror. for the manner to remind a well known sin. and its high price.
