I enjoyed very much this journey through Switzerland: beautiful landscapes and nice encounters.
There are some interesting aspects of this country: the chalets, the traditional folklore and the cheese (the "Chalet Fleuri" of Rossinière founded in 1602, Jean-Pierre Neff and the restoration of the family chalet using the traditional timbers, the folk dances in Evolène, men and women wearing traditional costumes and the "Au Vieux Mazot" restaurant-Raymonde and the raclette-), the Swiss railways ( the transport from the villages to the towns, the little station of Saint-Saphorin, the Glacier Express from Saint-Moritz to Zermatt with its 91 tunnels and 300 bridges-, 200.000 passengers every year), Gstaad ( Elisabeth and her carriage and horse, the beginning of the tourism in 1908-the railway station-, the Gstaad Palace founded in 1913, the celebrities, the chef Franz and the restaurant of the palace), the celebration of Saint-Sylvester in Urnasch-Appenzell- on 13th of January, the Sylvesterschlauss-character wearing bells , wishing a good new year and driving out the bad spirits-, the men going from farm to farm, singing and receiving food and wine), the cattle breeder Tobias in Appenzell ( the Brown Swiss cattle, the delivery of the milk to the cheese factory, the making of the "Appenzeller" cheese, Tobias Funke-the two Michelin stars chef- preparing meals with the Appenzeller" cheese) and the winter in the village of Göscheneralp (Karl and Beatrice, the transport of the mail, the danger of avalanche-the road is closed in the winter-, Christian and Lydia and their goats farm).
I enjoyed the encounters of Ismaël with Yannick Serex and Laurent Sciboz at Château d'Oex, with Sabine and Benoît Carcenat at Rougement, with the cheese maker Arnaud Guichard also in Rougement, with the mountain guide Marco Bomio, with Doris Wandfluh and Anne-Marie Kremps in Kanderteg, with Mathias von Siebenthal in Saanen, with the cheese maker Reto Siegrist at Schönried, and with Raymond Châtelain and Jon Smith in Wengen; nice encounters with very kind Swiss men and women.
