An actors last minute cancellation caused Leon Russom to call his close friend Larry Cedar less than 12 hours before shooting was to begin to see if he would be willing to come in at the last minute. The two actors had just completed work together on a production of King Lear at The Porters of Hellsgate Theatre Company.
Writer - director Julian Fort met the film's star Leon Russom at a San Fernando Valley Starbucks during the run up to the 2008 US Presidential election where the two became fast friends talking about politics and movies for hours at a time. Through their friendship the idea of film was born.
Star Leon Russom played the father of the films producer Adam Carl in the 1988 NBC pilot Down Delaware Road (1988). Carl's longtime friend Julian Fort had no idea when he wrote the role for Russom.
Writer - director Julian Fort met and shook hands with the films co-star Charles Dierkop on the board walk in Venice Beach California in the 1970's when the director was only 6 years old. He recognized the actor from his work in Star Trek (1966). The two would meet 35 years later when Charles came through the Lemon Grove gate at Paramount Pictures where Julian was working as a security guard.
The giant bank vault door used in the film is the door that was created for Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's Eleven (2001).
