Grayson remains eager to continue the serum and energy projects at any cost, dismissing Van Helsing's view that the order's sabotage wrecked their company. Jonathan works out that employer Grayson has manipulated him, wants revenge from within and tells Mina to stay aloof so long, ironically making her concentrate on medical study under Van Helsing. A violent conflict with the order becomes inevitable when Harker finds Davenport sabotaged the energy demonstration. Huntress Jane, working on the theory there must be a second ancient vampire at work in London to explain so many juniors, learns from a harlot one that it's the legendary Vlad 'Dracula' Tepes, but the order demands proof.
