Could've been so much more.

The season wasted the first season with boring and childish episodes, many of them following a similar story outline

Infiltrate the empire, do the objective, get caught in the act, barely get away.

Although it did introduce new interesting ideas like the inquisitors.

The second season gets better, with the return of old characters like Ashoka and Rex, but still suffers the problem of a predictive storyline and boring filler episodes. Vader is also tuned down wayy to much and should've been able to easily kill Kanan and Ezra. It also introduces new inquisitors and darth maul into the equation in the finale, setting up a promising third season.

Again the third season introduces good characters such as Thrawn into canon and an episode with Wedge Antilles, but some episodes still were filler and fell victim to the predictable storyline.

I'm a bit skeptical about season 4, as Season 3 was pretty disappointing. Season 1 and 2 weren't even that good.

When i first heard of Star Wars Rebels, i thought it would be much in the vein of Clone Wars, anthology series following people on various places rebelling against the Empire, only to form a united rebellion in the ending. That could've been interesting, but no you had to add sub-par and boring jedi with one dimensional villain sith to the show.
