Storyline

Saul has only nine days left as interim CIA director and successor senator Andrew Lockhart opposes operation Majid, but the chief of staff agrees that Saul can continue the top-secret project so long. Saul also authorizes Quinn to lead a team to investigate Majid's suggestion that Brody didn't place the bomb and the real culprit is still in the States, handled by 'his' law firm. After Dar Adal 'warns' his golf contact, senior partner Leland Bennett, his deputy Paul Franklin is instructed to get rid of him. When he turns up armed, pregnant Carrie breaks orders and has to be shot, obsessed with the only chance to clear Brody. Saul's wife dumps her lover. Financial analyst Fara's Iranian exiled father finds out about her CIA employment when she's rebuked for taking sickies to mind sickly Mr. Sherazi. Written by KGF Vissers

Trivia

Dialogue in this episode suggests that the character of Mira is supposed to be significantly older than the actress who plays her (Sarita Choudhury). Mira tells Alain that she and Saul have been married 35 years. This episode aired in 2013 and Choudhury was born in 1966, which mean that a Mira who is the same age as Sarita Choudhury would have been 12 years old when she married Saul. See more »

It is stated the meeting will take place at a hotel in Lynchburg. However, Lynchburg is a three-hour drive from DC, not a suburb, but yet there is no mention of the entire team traveling so far. See more »

Can Carrie prove Brody's innocence?
26 November 2013 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

Having been told by Majid Javadi that Brody wasn't involved in the bombing and that the contact who introduced Carrie to the Javadi knows the identity of the bomber Carrie is determined to bring him in alive. To that end Dar Adal approaches the man and lets him know the law firm is under investigation. Carrie is immediately contacted and told to find out what is going on; if everything goes according to plan the bomber will soon be in custody and Brody will be cleared. Of course that isn't the only thing going on; Farsi speaking analyst Fara Sherazi is having difficulties after her work indirectly lead to the deaths of Javadi's ex-wife and daughter in law and Saul is preparing to go away on a top secret mission; one Carrie must not know about.

This was one of the best episodes of the third season; it is good to see things going (almost) to plan for once… although inevitably there are some good surprises to be had. It was great to see Saul Berenson getting the upper hand against Senator Lockhart even though he has only nine days before the latter is due to take over the CIA. When the operation to catch the bomber took place in seemed a little far-fetched that Carrie would be left on her own given that she isn't exactly renowned for following orders; however I think it can be excused for dramatic reasons. As always the acting is great and the action is directed well; as with all good dramas I was left keen to know what will happen next.
