Great Show

It has been a long time since there has been a sit-com that I have enjoyed quite as much as "About A Boy." Firstly there is no laugh track, MAJOR PLUS (I don't need to be told when to laugh). Secondly it has found that perfect balance between humour and life lesson. I find myself laughing hysterically for the first 20 minutes straight. Mainly at the witty/naive banter between Will and Marcus, but before I know it I feel my heart being warmed by the brotherly love you can feel between a fatherless boy and his cool older neighbour. I would suggest this show to anyone who enjoys the endangered genre I refer to as "Heart Warming Comedies." I have a feeling that if you enjoy shows like Boy Meets World or Scrubs then you will certainly enjoy, About A Boy.

Missing the main ingredient

It's odd that it took them so long to adapt Nick Hornby's novel into a sitcom, having worked so well as a film starring Hugh Grant previously.

Even odder is that it doesn't work. The guy playing Will just didn't have the same weight in the role as Grant. Whereas with Grant in the role the character had underlying charm, here he's just a prat.

Not great overall.
