Psychologist, heal thyself
lor_2 April 2021
This conclusion of a 2-part Adam & Eve feature is not up to the high level of the label's turn of this century romantic movies, but still of interest.

Both volumes are misleadingly promoted in the ad copy on the cover liners, whether intentionally or just due to sloppiness. Story concerns a famous sex therapist/author Dr. Mary Jasper, aka colloquially Dr. Sex, more like Jackie Collins than Ruth Westheimer, played by beautiful Euro actress Laura Palmer, and her college co-ed daughter Chloe, played by beautiful A & E star Shayla LaVeaux.

But the ad copy refers to Shayla as the doctor and psychologist, essentially pretending Laura is not lead character and missing the whole mom/kid plot issue.

First volume is rather uneventful, with some soap opera action concerning Laura's husband Buck Adams and emphasis on the mother/daughter relationship, but sequel, identified on screen as "Heartfelt II", is more interesting.

It opens with an erotic fantasy of Cara Lott being prepared by her sexy maid for her bath and then gang-banged by four studs. It turns out Cara is a patient for Dr. Jasper, having marital problems with Laura giving her advice on how to use her fantasies to spice up the marriage.

Dr. Jasper is then approached by a female colleague Janet (played NonSex by Black actress Natasha) who also needs advice but Laura is reluctant to tell her what to do.

Both Dr. Jasper and her husband Peter (played by Buck Adams) cheat on each other: Laura with an old chum in town Alec Metro, and Buck sort of reluctantly with two very sexy co-eds who are friends of Shayla, played by Randy Lee and Shelbee Myne who barge in on him while he's taking a shower.

Satisfying ending has Laura at the end of her tether, her marriage falling apart, but buoyed a bit by a testimonial from her patient Lott for the help she received in saving her own marriage. It's soap opera content, but well-acted.
