Storyline

Ted and Marshall hijack Barney for what is his surprise bachelor party. The timing of their hijack leaves Robin high and dry to spend dinner alone with Loretta, to which Robin is not looking forward. Barney, who coins his party as his "bro mitzvah", is quietly excited for what most men would define as one of the defining evenings of their life. However, he is skeptical that Ted and Marshall can pull off his dream bachelor party, as most men's bachelor party is like a standard evening out for Barney. But Ted and Marshall are confident that they can do his party justice, especially as they paid attention to Barney's previous description of his dream bachelor party. But will Ted and Marshall's interpretation of Barney's description match Barney's own? Written by Huggo

Trivia

Barney's Bro-Mitzvah Absolute Requirements are: booze, cigars, strippers, fear for our lives, mind-blowing entertainment, karate kid appearance, "alone time" for me during the strip show, tell crazy sex stories, spontaneous decision we regret, spend way too much money ($$$), lose a bro at some point, at least one real moment between bros, and see a girl-fight. One Of The Best Episodes Ever
1 March 2015 | by (United Kingdom) – See all my reviews

This is one of the best episode ever and "How I Met Your Mother"

Plot In A Paragraph: Ted and Marshall kidnap Barney for his surprise bachelor party. This leaves Robin to spend the evening having dinner alone with Barney's mother Loretta. Barney, who coins his party as his "bro mitzvah", is sceptical that Ted and Marshall can pull off a successful bachelor party for him, but they are confident that they can do his night justice, especially as they paid attention to Barney's previous description of his dream bachelor party.

A guest appearance by Ralph Macchio was great, as was the return of Quinn (Becky Newton), Barney's last fiancée. My one problem with this episode was Ted's insistence that he be kidnapped (as he was worth more) was so ridiculously poor, that it would have gave the game away immediately. Alyson Hannigan was brilliant in her flirting with Macchio, but once again it's Neil Patrick Harris that was the star of the show.

Any episode that features the brilliant Neil Patrick Harris's character Barney Stinson in the main storyline is always excellent. I could go on and on about the brilliance of this episode, and in particular Neil Patrick Harris but I won't bore you with it.

Now bring on the wedding, where we meet the mother!!
