Two Big WWE Returns! Shield Triple Threat Announced! | WWE Raw 06/20/16 Review …in about 4 minutes

21 June 2016 2:01 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

The 06/20/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw reviewed in about 4 minutes – including two big WWE stars returning to TV (and John Laurinaitis), Shieldbowl announced with a triple threat between WWE Champion Dean Ambrose, Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns, a bad call by Michael Cole, and much more…

Lunatic Champion Promo

The show opened on Dean Ambrose nearly forgetting his WWE Title in a cab on the way to the arena – what are you like, Dean? – to then cut a promo on winning the championship the previous night.

The usual interruptions took place – first Roman Reigns, then Seth Rollins, then a McMahon to make a match between them later that night. The main event’ll be Reigns vs Rollins to be the No.1 contender.

Roman was heckled by “You can’t wrestle chants” yet again. »

WWE superstar Roman Reigns suspended following wellness policy violation

21 June 2016 12:47 PM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

WWE  has announced the suspension of former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns following a violation of the company’s wellness policy.

The brief statement reads: “WWE has suspended Joe Anoa’i (Roman Reigns) for 30 days effective immediately for his first violation of the company’s talent wellness policy.”

Reigns tweeted a statement in regards to his suspension earlier today;”I apologize to my family, friends and fans for my mistake in violating WWE’s wellness policy, No excuses. I own it.”

Reigns lost his World Heavyweight Championship in a match against Seth Rollins at this past weekend’s Money In The Bank PPV, only for Dean Ambrose to later go on to defeat Rollins by cashing in his Money In The Bank briefcase which he won earlier in the night.

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

All of the ref bumps, both Roman Reigns and John Cena lose on the same night, and a new WWE Champion is crowned…twice. WrestleTalk’s Oli Davis reviews WWE’s Money in the Bank 2016 PPV/Network Special thingy.

The New Day Beat Cass & Enzo Vs The Vaudevillians Vs Galanderson

The PPV, Network Special thingy opened with a fatal fourway tag match, which saw New Day retain against Cass and Enzo, The Vaudevillians and Galanderson. I really enjoyed this match, but the finish had an awkward…

…timing issue.

There was a moment when Luke Gallows just stood there for a while looking at Big E, stumbling around like he was in dazed mode on Thq’s Smackdown Just Bring It video game. Retro reference. The delay meant that when Aidan English was eventually pinned, »

Aj Styles Shoots On John Cena Burying Talent! | WWE Raw 06/06/16 Review …in about 4 minutes

7 June 2016 10:04 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

The 06/06/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw reviewed in about 4 minutes – including Aj Styles shooting on John Cena burying other wrestlers, Seth Rollins has a fantastic interview segment, Chris Jericho confirms he’s from Winnipeg, you stupid idiot, Tyler Breeze shaves Fandango’s back, and much, much more…

Money In The Bants

This week’s Raw opened with the Money in the Bank match’s six competitors all sitting on top of their own ladders, like they were at a lifeguard convention.

Of the six guys there, four of them are really good promos: Owens, Zayn and Ambrose all played their roles perfectly, but Chris Jericho was an absolute gift – drink him in.

After claiming he’d already won a Money in the Bank match – which he hasn’t – Cesaro asked if he did so in Stupid-idiot-ville. »

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

The 05/23/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw reviewed in about 4 minutes – including Aj Styles reuniting with The Club and turning heel, John Cena’s return, Stephanie and Shane McMahon announcing the WWE brand split, and much more…

America!

The show opened with a lengthy video package on Memorial Day. Being an Englishman, however, all I heard was the opening riff to Team America: World Police’s ‘America, F*** Yeah!’

On a more serious note, why was The Miz used as one of the talking heads? In the show, he’s a heel. Couldn’t they have just gotten another babyface? Inconsistencies like that are really annoying.

The Steph And Shane Connection

But not as annoying as the McMahon siblings. Shane and Stephanie introduced the show proper by announcing that Smackdown’s going »

WWE’s annual Extreme Rules PPV always finds itself full of gimmick matches such as table matches, ladder matches, street fights and things of that nature, so it’s no surprise that the 2016 version of Extreme Rules is also full of these types of matches. Sometimes it can result in overkill, other times it can result in an entertaining event. Let’s hope this event ticks the entertaining option.

The following is a guest post from WrestleTalk. Subscribe to their YouTube channel for new videos every day.

The 05/23/16 edition of WWE Monday Night Raw reviewed in about 4 minutes – including Aj Styles’ continued losing streak, the triumphant return of Seth Rollins, the Flairs break up, 1,200th episode birthday celebrations and much more…

Seth Rollins Returns

The show opened with Seth ‘Crossfit Jesus’ Rollins, delivering his first babyface promo after his shock return at Extreme Rules…until he quickly went back to being a heel. The gear change came with the awesome line: “My knee, it buckled…it buckled under the weight of carrying this company on my back for so freaking long!”

Oh, did you miss any of the last 10 minutes of Rollins recapping the story so far? Don’t worry, because Shane McMahon’s here to recap everything again, which ends with him making Rollins vs Roman Reigns at »

Roman Reigns vs Seth Rollins set for WWE Money in the Bank

24 May 2016 3:40 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

After shocking the WWE Universe by returning during the main event of Extreme Rules, it was announced on last night’s Raw that Seth Rollins would face Roman Reigns at WWE Money in the Bank next month.

The announcement was made by Shane McMahon during an in-ring segment. Aj Styles, who had been feuding with Reigns over the title for the last couple of months, had a segment later in the show with Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson so it looks like he’s moving into a program with them.

Rollins never lost the WWE World Heavyweight Championship as he injured himself during the European tour last November forcing him to vacate the belt. Reigns won the title at Survivor Series and has since traded it with Sheamus and Triple H, culminating with his championship coronation at WrestleMania.

The show also featured qualifiers for the Money in the Bank ladder match, »

Howdy wrestling fans, and a big thanks to Aaron Oster and James Montgomery for tending to the homestead while I was off for last week's Raw and Payback spectacles. And I have no idea why I'm aping cowboy parlance, or if that's even appropriate while recapping a show that went down in Omaha. But in the interest of corralling my thoughts, let's look toward Extreme Rules.

Last night pointed toward the May 22 affair by continuing to tease the many scenarios surrounding Roman Reigns, A.J. Styles and "The Club," eking intrigue »

The high spots have always sent the crowd into a frenzy, and set the tone for the rest of the night. 15 Most Surprising WWE WrestleMania Match Finishes

1 March 2016 12:33 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

Jonathan Bachman/AP

WrestleMania can be good, it can be bad, it can be anything it wants to be so long as its not boring. The last thing a fan wants is to wait weeks and months for WWE’s biggest extravaganza, only to be sorely disappointed by how utterly predictable the results end up being.

There have been some truly predictable WrestleManias, such as WrestleMania 29, in which Mark Henry was put over Ryback in the second match just to try and stun oddsmakers, as every other match had a non-negotiable conclusion. Other times, WrestleMania has thrown a wrench into the works of notable matches with the intent of surprising even its most jaded viewers. Oftentimes, this strategy works to a fault.

With these sorts of risky decisions, you run the risk of upsetting the audience. In some cases, the shocking finishes were virulently protested by fans that tuned in the following night anyway. »

10 Biggest WWE Crimes Cm Punk Totally Got Away

17 February 2016 8:45 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE.com

It’s been over two years since Phil ‘Cm Punk’ Brooks was part of World Wrestling Entertainment on screen. Even though he elected to leave in late-January, 2014, it wasn’t until June that Punk was officially served with his termination papers from the company. Rather coincidentally (or not), that document happened to plonk down on the man’s door mat on the day of his wedding to another ex-WWE talent, Aj Lee.

Naturally, the longest-running WWE Heavyweight Champion of his generation didn’t take too kindly to this fact. Punk has bashed WWE ever since, and had many gripes about his time with the company. Despite this, he had an aforementioned 434 day run as the promotion’s top champ, won ‘Money In The Bank’ twice, and wrestled everyone from Triple H and The Undertaker to John Cena and Daniel Bryan.

10 WWE Questions You Most Want Answered (Feb 3)

3 February 2016 11:01 AM, PST | Obsessed with Film | See recent Obsessed with Film news »

WWE.com

This week’s questions have seen the fantasy bookers out in force, with several great theories being floated – including several heel turns, a potential Mr. Money In The Bank, and the notion of a blockbuster feud between two of the most iconic stables of the modern era.

Elsewhere, we’re also considering the slowly-forming WrestleMania card, the idea of an eventual brand split, and – perhaps the most important question all – whether Big E’s recent spanking of Dean Ambrose was too damn risque for the PG era.

Once again, thank you to everyone who submitted questions (including those who unfortunately missed out this week). Look out for an announcement regarding next week’s article by following @WhatCultureWWE on Twitter.
