Storyline

Ray heads for Boston to track down Sully with a very generous offer. Tracking Sully proves to be more difficult than expected. Rays past re-emerges as Agent Miller moves forward with his investigation into the murder for which Mickey was framed. For this Miller requests a witness testimony from Sean Walker - though Mickey has other things on his mind when he meets with Walker. As the investigation moves on, Frank receives some interesting videos that will cause problems for Agent Miller. Tension between Ray and his family builds as Marvin brings up Rays knowledge of his mothers murder. Bridget runs into the arms of Marvin, and in attempting to bring their relationship to the next level Marvin crosses a boundary which Ray will not tolerate. Written by Urema

beyond compelling
12 November 2015 | by (North America) – See all my reviews

Shows like Sopranos and Breaking Bad showed Hollywood that the average TV viewer -- the guy who used to watch Cheers -- would upsell himself into an entirely new level of crazy if, and only if, the production values were top notch, the actors mesmerizing and the script at least plausible.

And so here we are. This review written 2015 as I am binge watching the series to date. So far one of the most riveting TV episodes I have seen to date was Vikings where the band tried to raid Paris. It was like watching a world war. There was something happening, something exploding, someone dying, someone praying, every moment. I was glued to the screen.

This episode of RD does not have pyrotechnics or murders or even a lot of action but the effect was the same as the Vikings raiding Paris. In one scene the wonderful James Woods plays an ageing thug that Ray calmly and reasonably asks to kill his own father (played by Jon Voight, who started as a pretty boy in Midnight Cowboy and has built a heck of a career playing characters that make your skin crawl) In another scene Ray's wife let's off steam by shoplifting from a store where the dresses are $5000 a pop -- and goes to jail. In other the wonderkid black neighbour abuses Ray's daughter, and the audience cringes in advance because even by episode 7 we KNOW that is not going to end well.

Then there is the scene where Ray seems about to get romantic with his wife while casually mentioned he thinks he has a broken rib. (Ever had one? Grown men cry with the pain) And it just keeps getting better.

Amazing
