Not Great, but Decent
blood-lust66625 January 2018
Warning: Spoilers
This movie was clearly based on the Triangle Shirt Factory fire of 1911, in which 146 people died. I think it's an interesting concept to intertwine this real life event into a horror movie. This movie did an okay job of portraying a ghost story, though the CGI was lacking. The building was also sufficiently creepy. What it lacked, though, was an in depth look into the history of the building and the fire. That would have upped the appeal and the horror of the movie a great deal. I'll also have to say that the ending just didn't work. Actually, there were a few endings (when you watch, you'll know what I mean) which seemed odd, as though the director didn't know which would to use and which one to cut, so he decided to use both. But the ending (not involving any of the characters) clearly had an agenda attached to it and took away from the movie in spades.

Warning: Spoilers
Kate is a residential real estate agent who was requested to sell a commercial factory. We know from the opening photo sequence there was a fire there in 1911 killing garment workers. Kate shows up being bubbly, attempting to sell this factory to a group of buyers. When they reach the top floor, they realize that the place had a fire...and they are trapped...and of course the ghostly image on the DVD cover.

Instead of being trapped inside a haunted house, they opt to change it to a factory. Unfortunately they couldn't create decent characters. Azura Skye wasn't convincing as the lead. The ghosts lacked any kind of good scare factor. I liked the sound track at times as a softer version of scare music used in the 40's and 50's.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Warning: Spoilers
There's spoilers here.

Does the villain really set in motion an elaborate plan to get out of retirement?

I'm pretty sure the ghost kills multiple people after arranging a real estate deal-just so they can possess their own granddaughter and open a sweat shop in Pakistan.

My positive stars are inspired by the audacity of the payoff.

Did adults make this movie?

This movie was not good in any way, shape or form. It wasn't the low budget that killed it. I've seen low budget films done well. It was the sub-par acting, the contrived deaths, and the utter lack of imagination. The CGI was no better than CGI in 1950s black and white horror movies. Honestly, my teenagers could have made a better movie with just their cellphones. Do yourself a favor and skip this one.

Impressive

Well crafted on a tight budget. Relying on it's story, actors, and sense of realism. One of the better horror movies out right now.

Good plot

Liked the plot and the actors. Wish the ending was a little better but I do appreciate a good horror movie and this is one of them. Special effects could have been better but the realistic storyline and editing made up for it thankfully. It's a watch from me

Scary

I seen this alone and it was creepy as hell, it's a quality thriller flick. I've seen some mixed reviews about this but I'll give them credit for the production, realism (good props and costume design etc) and editing. It's one of those indie horror films you can tell they actually spend some time, money and effort to make it great. Good stuff!

Totally worth it

This was on my recommended when scrolling through Prime. Gave it a go and I really liked it. Ignore the bad reviews and watch this. It could have been a little better in terms of acting and some of the shots were over the top but I respect the fact that it's an indie and it's probably one of the first indie films I've watched right to the end. So to conclude it's a great film if horror is your thing

To hell we go

How is this only a 5.1! Good film with lots going on. Kate is a residential real estate agent who was requested to sell a factory. When they reach the top floor, they realize that the place had a fire and then the plot thickens. Perfect movie to watch on a weekend. Giving this a 9 to help with the ratings, glad i found this gem of a movie.
