Storyline

In the waning days of the Soviet Union, a Russian military officer orders the release of an experimental chemical weapon, even going so far as to murder one of her fellow officers to see that it is unleashed. And it is soon loose, turning those who are exposed to it into flesh-eating zombies. A young man hears and sees this unfolding disaster on the TV and radio. Society soon disintegrates. The young man sets out for a safe haven. He and some allies travel across the country. There are, of course, a ton of zombies. But they also find cannibals and other threats as well. They come across a secret that may be vitally important. Can they survive long enough to get it to the military? Written by ZMDB
