The historical background of colonialism in Europe, post-war right-wing extremism and xenophobic political parties/movements today. Together, these events form a fund for Stockholm's city theater's production, "Exterminate All the Brutes". The stage production is an adaptation of Sven Lindqvist's book - a historical and philosophical investigation of the roots of European colonialism, racism, and genocide in Africa. The book takes its title from the infamous phrase used by the character Kurtz in Joseph Conrad's 1899 "Heart of Darkness".
