Three older womens' adventures
3 April 2015 | by (Berlin, Germany) – See all my reviews

"Herzdamen an der Elbe" is a 2013 television movie which follows the first film about the Herzdamen from 2006 and features the same trio of actresses in the lead roles. So far, i have not read about a third film, but who knows. There has been a 7-year break between films 1 and 2 as well. The action can be summarized quickly. The three want to save their struggling restaurant and also have good relationships with their (new and old) partners. Thekla Carola Wied and Rolf Kannies are probably the only two known actors in the cast and fittingly they are also a couple in this movie in a predictable storyline.

The writer-director team is very experiences with television work, but sadly this did not result in a great movie. All very predictable, almost never entertaining and occasionally even some extremely bad plays on words and jokes on aging. Not recommended unless you saw and really loved the first movie as the writer is the same as from the first movie in 2006.
