Three years ago, Hollywood learned the hard way that if you poke a political bee hive, you might get stung. Sony‘s release of the Kim Jong-un assassination comedy “The Interview” starring James Franco and Seth Rogen angered the North Korean leader, who was believed to be behind the hack of the studio’s network, which saw an array of personal information and private emails flood the web.

Ant-Man And The Wasp Casts Randall Park As S.H.I.E.L.D. Agent Jimmy Woo

7 July 2017 5:15 PM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

With all this talk of Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers 4, Black Panther, and even Captain Marvel, it's easy to forget about Ant-Man and the Wasp, due out July 6, 2018, between the two Avengers titles. Which is a shame, because the first Ant-Man is a fantastic film, and though it gets harder and harder to rank these Marvel Cinematic Universe films with each release, I'd consider it among my favorites. Ant-Man used the heist genre in a killer way and and made the most of its astonishing cast including Paul Rudd, Michael Douglas, Evangeline Lilly, Corey Stoll, and, of course, the surprisingly hilarious Michael Pena

To be fair, little is known about Ant-Man and the Wasp. Peyton Reed is returning to helm the film, and Paul Rudd and Evangeline Lilly are confirmed to return, as you can't make Ant-Man and the Wasp without, well, Ant-Man and the Wasp. Michael Douglas and »

Following the events of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 4, when the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization became legitimized again, we'll finally see a S.H.I.E.L.D. presence on the movie side of the McU again. Randall Park has signed on to star in the upcoming Marvel sequel Ant-Man and the Wasp, portraying S.H.I.E.L.D. agent Jimmy Woo from the Marvel comics. It isn't clear how large or small a role he will have, or if he will have any interactions with Scott Lang (Paul Rudd) or Hope Van Dyne, a.k.a. The Wasp (Evangeline Lilly).

This report from The Tracking Board comes exactly one month after Black Mirror star Hannah John-Kamen signed on to star in this superhero sequel, although her role was not revealed quite yet. While Jimmy Woo may not be a household name for many Marvel Comics fans, »

Spider-Man: Homecoming's Tom Holland on becoming his favourite superhero

Spider-Man: Homecoming's Tom Holland on becoming his favourite superheroSpider-Man: Homecoming's Tom Holland on becoming his favourite superheroBob Strauss - Cineplex Magazine7/5/2017 1:50:00 Pm

The third time should, at least, be charming.

That’s because Tom Holland is playing the friendly neighborhood webslinger in Spider-Man: Homecoming. Exuberant and super-friendly, the 21-year-old English actor is the third person to play Marvel Comics’ most popular superhero on the big screen since the turn of the century. And if the overeager, sarcastic teen approach to Peter Parker that he introduced in last year’s Captain America: Civil War is maintained, we’ll have a much different wall crawler than with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield’s angstier interpretations.

“I tried to bring a lot of levity to the character, so at every opportunity I got I was trying to crack jokes and be the wise guy,” says Holland over the phone. »

Judd Apatow to Sony: ‘Shove the Clean Versions of Movies Up Your A–!’

13 June 2017 6:19 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

The Directors Guild of America and Judd Apatow have objected to Sony Pictures Home Entertainment “clean version” initiative allowing viewers to screen edited versions of two dozen Sony films.

The studio announced on June 7 that it was making the broadcast TV or airline version of these 24 titles available when a consumer purchases a film in its original form on iTunes, Vudu, and FandangoNOW. The DGA said in a statement Tuesday that Sony is violating the guild’s master contract with the major studios.

“Directors have the right to edit their feature films for every non-theatrical platform, plain and simple,” the DGA said. “Taking a director’s edit for one platform, and then releasing it on another — without giving the director the opportunity to edit — violates our Agreement. Throughout the years, the DGA has achieved hard-fought creative rights gains protecting our members from such practices. As creators of their films, directors »

Ferrell and Poehler Go Full Scarface in The House Red Band Trailer

18 May 2017 2:08 PM, PDT | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

With just a month and a half left until the R-rated summer comedy The House hits theaters, New Line Cinema has debuted an outrageous new red band trailer. This age-restricted video contains much more footage that the first trailer, showing what really happens when these loving parents, played by Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler, catch someone cheating. The result is much more bloody and hilarious than the version shown in the all-ages trailer, but if you're averse to a lot of blood being shown, you may want to look away towards the end of this footage, because it gets rather gruesome.

Warner Bros. debuted this red band trailer on YouTube today, which opens with a scene where Scott and Kate Johansen (Will Ferrell and Amy Poehler) are celebrating their daughter Alex's (Ryan Simpkins) graduation, by describing the "f--- fest" their house will become, once their daughter leaves for college. The Room fans rejoice! James Franco’s The Disaster Artist is coming this Christmas

17 May 2017 8:32 AM, PDT | HeyUGuys.co.uk | See recent HeyUGuys news »

Author: Scott Davis

“You’re tearing me apart Lisa!” – The Room, written and directed by Tommy Wiseau, is on the biggest cult films of all time with special screenings, fan events and “quote-along” films appearing across both the UK and Us all the time.

Indeed, Wiseau himself has become something of a legend with the film and it was no surprise that a film based on the making of the film and the director’s conception of the story would make its way to the big screen. Well, thanks to James Franco (Why Him?, The Interview), we now have that film in the form of The Disaster Artist, based on the book by The Room co-star Greg Sestero and it now has a prime awards season spot at the end of the year (via The Hollywood Reporter).

Snatched Director Jonathan Levine On The Amy Schumer-Goldie Hawn Comedy

9 May 2017 8:00 AM, PDT | LRMonline.com | See recent LRM Online news »

While the upcoming R-rated comedy Snatched will probably get more attention for its two stars, Amy Schumer and Goldie Hawn--the latter making her first big screen appearance in almost 15 years--the man behind the camera is director Jonathan Levine, who continues to diversify his filmography with this female-driven comedy.

Levine first got attention for his early indie The Wackness, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival in 2008, and he followed that by adapting the young adult zombie romance Warm Bodies, then making the cancer comedy 50/50 and the Christmas comedy The Night Before, the latter two with Seth Rogen and Joseph Gordon-Levitt.

In Snatched, Amy Schumer plays Emily Middleton, who has plans to go to South America on a romantic trip with her boyfriend, but when he breaks up with her she asks her mother Linda (Hawn) to make the trip with her.  Once there, the two are constantly fighting, but »

Hackers Hold Netflix To Ransom After Stealing New Season Of ‘Orange Is The New Black’

1 May 2017 8:50 AM, PDT | The Playlist | See recent The Playlist news »

In the simpler times of the 1990s, computer hacking was mostly the realm of weird, ill-conceived, we-don’t-understand-computers movies like “The Net” or “Hackers,” or a plot device for when screenwriters couldn’t find another way out of a pickle. But recent years have shown what a threat it is. The entertainment industry got an early brunt of it when Sony was hacked over the Seth Rogen comedy “The Interview,” purportedly by North Korea, before the rest of America got screwed by Russian hackers interfering with the 2016 election.

Robert Kirkman’s Invincible Being Brought To The Big Screen By Seth Rogen And Evan Goldberg

Even if you don’t read comic books, chances are you’ll be familiar with Robert Kirkman’s name. The Image Comics scribe is the creator of The Walking Dead, a series which has become a global phenomenon since being brought to television by AMC. However, what you may not know is that Kirkman has another long-running comic called Invincible, which is also well past the #100 issue mark.

It tells the story of Mark Grayson, a half human/half alien teenager who develops superpowers and becomes “invincible” in a world full of larger than life characters. His adventures have taken place on Earth and in the far reaches of space, and while it’s clearly inspired by Spider-Man and mainstream superhero universes such as those created by Marvel and DC Comics, Invincible also features some seriously graphic violence amidst epic action scenes.
