A commendable attempt!

For the past couple of decades, while every other regional industry of our nation, alongside Bollywood, has been exploring the space of Gangster dramas, the Bengali film industry seldom touched upon this genre; it has hardly scratched the surface; thus, I was just pleased to see an effort being finally made, regardless of its deficiencies.

As a well-wisher and a native audience of the industry, I would request aspiring and established filmmakers to delve more into this particular realm since this has tremendous potential and could lead them to nationwide recognition and bring back the days of glory.

Coming back to the film, it boasts an engaging, eventful narrative; not without its shortcomings, of course, but overall, it does leave more or less a positive impression, and that's mainly because of the violence displayed unapologetically and the impeccable performances given by some of the reputed veterans.

While the likes of Parambrata Chatterjee and Rajatabha Dutta did reasonably well, it's both the 'Mukherjees' (Swastika and Kharaj) who have stolen the show, especially the latter.

Simply sensational.

Most illogical movie I have ever seen
mukherjeeuddipan1 October 2023
The movie does not make any sense. It started with a realistic story then it went to a direction of most absurd story line. Acting is nice by all the actors but the story. How Swastika got that much power, why the daughter reunion was so surprising, how she will benefit by killing Parambrata (Just for the Autobiography, Sorry does not make sense)? The movie tried to just drag with absurd storyline with unnecessary violence. When this movie was released I was planning to go to a theatre, but luckily we did not. To the Author and the Director - please please help to get the stories more meaningful and near to life.

Why so much hurry? Going to panvel in the morning??
The version i got to see was this 'revised' version written on the cbfc. I don't know what this revised is. Maybe this revised version ruined the entire film and if not then the editor need to consider it editing once again. It seems like they made this as a 6 hour long 8 episode web series first but later they cut it down to be a movie. What is happening is very difficult to understand. The scene transits and the entire thing changes from the middle of the previous scene to something absolutely different. A good movie just ruined because of technical faults. What why when happened is still a mystery.

An edge of the seat thriller with an unbelievable ending
sandeepsarkar-5255330 June 2023
A very well made, sleek, compact and interesting action-packed thriller. The plot is based mostly on a true story which makes it even more engrossing. This kind of thriller movie has not been seen in Bengali cinema before. It is not over the top movie like many of the South Indian thrillers Gang star movies and even outdoes them in many ways in finesse. The acting is top notch by the entire cast. Especially Swastika Mukherjee is awesome and surely will get a nomination for a Filmfare and/or National award. The making of the movie can be considered to be at the level of "The Godfather" at a smaller scale. Also the ending is very unexpected and spectacular. Definitely needs to be watch on the big screen.
