What do you get when you mix Nadodikattu, Dil Chata Hai & The Hangover Part II? The answer is Kili Poyi.

While the director has tried hard to add elements of new-wave, he fails amazingly. With crooked camera work, plagiarized music all over the place, brought-up dialogs, confusing screenplay and bad performances by great actors makes this an excruciatingly unpleasant movie to watch.

Sex, useless profanity (with the f word being used randomly for no reason at all) vulgarity, cannabis and madness is flashed every now and then with some sequences blowing out of proportion to even watch & interpret. The makers have gone too far and have wrecked havoc in Mollywood. They thought adding some urban oomph-elements to the plot will add zeal. Hollywood pictures, or posters doesn't help the film either. 1.6/10.

BOTTOM LINE: This offers nothing new. Nor does it intrigue. Clichéd & boring, that is what Kili Poyi is. Not Recommended.

Can be watched with a typical Indian family? NO

At least the movie was different!

to most movies that are typically out dated in nature. This is reality right there, for most people in 20's living in other cities like B'lore. Chennai or Mumbai, or even in other countries. I agree to the fact that there were a lot or vulgar language and lewd scenes, but it targets audience in their 20's, what would you expect?

I reckon, Asifand Aju did a great job for most part of the movie. Some good friendship and a bit of comedy and fun. Great initiative by the director. Some dialogues were just epic and will stay in a viewers head for a while, like the title 'kili poyi', is used by most youngsters in kerala and outside to describe their intoxication.

In short, definitely worth a watch if you are not anti - marijuana.

Films like "Kili Poyi" are refreshing to see once in a while. Although some elements might seem to have been borrowed from the Hollywood it does not resemble strongly to any of the films that I know about.

When you come to know that it is the first stoner film to be made in India it feels great that it came out from Malayalam industry. It just shows that the Kerala audience is more liberal and has more exposure than other Indian audiences.

Talking of the film, it is just pure entertainment. Some of the cannabis induced jokes are good and it seems that the director did his homework before shooting these scenes. The language used in the film is such which would be used in real life by friends or people working in Bangalore or other places in India.

Asif Ali and Aju Varghese play their parts well and do look stoned for the most part of the film.

Do not watch this film if you like your time to be spent in churning emotions or if you would like to take away any message. This film is definitely a better watch than films like Lokpal, Kammath and Kammath, etc.
