The pilot, which is aiming for pick-up this fall, revolves around a laid-off math teacher forced into the blue-collar world when he gets a job at Home Time, a big-box home-supply store. His co-workers are played by Bill Engvall, Ryan McPartlin and Melora Hardin, who plays their boss.

On the show, Marin will play Perez, an offbeat Home Time employee who spends his days making keys and his nights preparing for the apocalypse (he's a survivalist).

Iconic for his role in 1978's Up In Smoke, Marin was previously a series regular on the short-lived series Rob and the very long-lived Nash Bridges.

Ben Rappaport joins Bill Engvall in Do It Yourself

TBS's Do It Yourself pilot has cast Outsourced's Ben Rappaport as the lead alongside Bill Engvall in the comedy. Deadline reports that the multi-camera project from Wild Hogs, Old Dogs' Walt Becker as well as Rob Long, tells of Nick Porter (Rappaport), math teacher who, after being laid off, is thrust into a blue collar world with a job at a big box home supply store. Engvall plays Dale, a co-worker with thirty years of experience as an executive, and a Circuit City VP who's now running on minimum wage. Melora Hardin and Ryan McPartlin were previously cast in Do It Yourself.

TBS Orders Do It Yourself Pilot

The Do It Yourself sitcom from Walt Becker (Wild Hogs, Van Wilder) and Rob Long (Cheers) has landed a pilot order. The story follows a 20-something laid-off math teacher who finds himself thrust into the blue collar world when he gets a job at that most American of retail institutions: the big box home supply store. Nick quickly becomes the de facto leader of his band of misfit coworkers while also figuring out ways to redefine what it means to be a teacher. TBS is producing the pilot for Do It Yourself. Becker also directed the hilarious John Travolta and Robin Williams comedy Old Dogs
