Man's best friend indeed.

NCIS as a television show provides a more humanizing and sometimes heartbreaking medium of the war in Afghanistan to its various and individualized viewers but this episode it particular went a bit further. The actress playing the wife created a character that I found so easy to sympathize with and love, whether it was through her love of her dog or genuine emotion. Using the dog in the storyline allowed viewers to see different ways a war is fought, even if only through a portrayal of these ways. The dog helped emphasize the sincerity and emotion in this episode. Like Ol' Yeller and other well portrayed dogs, Dex really tugged at the heartstrings especially in the last shot. I thought this episode was excellently done and would hope that all guest star's performances were as emotional and relatable as the one particular actress'. This season is shaping up to contain some of the best episodes yet. Only proof that NCIS even after ten seasons has lost its punch.
