Brilliant Film!

The Ballad of Tita and the Machines is a timely examination of disparate worlds: farm labor and burgeoning AI. Through masterful direction, stunning cinematography and stand-out performances, the film conveys a powerful, humanistic message regarding the value of the migrant laborer with as much humor as it does heart. Caballero's personal connection to the material is decidedly palpable while Patalano, in her eponymous role, brings the narrative to life with alternating grit and poignant vulnerability.

The Ballad of Tita and the Machines is a must-see--a powerful testament to our changing times. Bravo!

Tita's power is undeniable!

The story of Tita is one that we have waited to see for a long time! Tita is that mother, wife, bread winner, whose determination and power is unstoppable.

Laura Patalano's beautiful face conveys all the silent, still strength of an immigrant woman who has lived through hardship and come out on the other side. I love how her sassiness peaks through as well! Our field workers are true heroes and this film gives us a small window into the immense value of their work.

The cinematography is majestic. The opening scene displaying the beauty of the fruit and the field is breathtaking.

This film is entertaining, meaningful but also so important. It is giving us an opportunity to look into the lives of those who are often unseen, passed over. Field workers who actually keep our economy and or country running. It is also a story that is examining the looming issue of AI. What that means in terms of the value of our work. Lot's to think about!

Timely, important and celebratory!

I have never seen a film like this: a sci-fi with Latine protagonists that uplifts the valuable, skilled, necessary work of immigrant farmworkers, WHAT! Penned by Luis Antonio Aldana and Miguel Angel Caballero, The Ballad of Tita and the Machines is a timely piece of art for this generation of AI-infused products. Miguel Angel Caballero's direction is intentional, stunning and mesmerizing at every turn. Laura Patalano is brilliant in the lead role. She is subtle, caring, brave and completely represents the heroine that all 'trabajadoras del fil' are to our community. Tita is my mother, my grandmother, my aunts... Tita is incredible.
