Joseph Molesley: [referring to Thomas' New York trip] How was it?
Thomas Barrow: Interesting. Very modern and very interesting. How's it been here?
Jimmy Kent: Not very interesting and not very modern.
Sarah Bunting: [referring to the Crawleys] It makes me take a kinder view of the family.
Tom Branson: What do you have against them?
Sarah Bunting: Nothing, but as a rule I don't usually warm to their type.
Tom Branson: I don't believe in types. I believe in people.
Isobel Crawley: I'm a feeble substitute for the entire Crawley family.
Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham: [sarastically] Mmm, yes, but you're better than nothing.
Isobel Crawley: [sarcastically] How warming you make that sound!
Violet Crawley, Dowager Countess of Grantham: No life is rewarding if you think too much about it.
