The Graysons host a grand masquerade party. Aiden risk being fired by Daniel by deliberately ruining the Initiative investment, in order to force Trask to contact them. It enables Aiden to kidnap his sister's murderer, who must take him to Nolan's kidnapped lover Padma, but she was murdered a day earlier. Jack does a good job as Conrad's campaign manager for New York governor, but Emily and Nolan help him set up some exposure of the murder of her father. Emily also anonymously proves to Victoria that the other son she pretended to have aborted but got adopted trough a nunnery is not a complete secret, and makes Conrad seriously doubt his wife's claim there is no hidden child, in fact her lush mother's lover's rape fruit. Did You Know?

Sloane Hanover: I didn't mean to startle you, Mrs. Grayson.
Victoria Grayson: Sloane, it's so good to see a friendly face. I'm so glad you accepted my invitation.
Sloane Hanover: I was, too, until I saw Danny back on the arm of the Ice Queen.
Victoria Grayson: Well, I always thought the two of you were a much better fit. Give them a few days. They'll have parted ways again.
Sloane Hanover: Oh... then I guess you haven't seen it...
[shows Victoria the society tidbit of Daniel and Emily on her cellphone]

if masked balls are your thing ..

Masquerade? Well, the whole series has always been a masquerade.

Like I predicted, another actor portraying a baddie's tenure ran out, and ol' Burn Gorham (as Trask) is off the set and off the screen.

I don't quite understand the six weeks later bit. Why? Checked, the episode followed the previous one as per usual a week later. Why the six weeks later bit then? Was there a break in production? Anyway, Ashley Madekwe sure looked like she had a six-week holiday.

Seemed to be a Halloween episode, but it was shown in March 2013.

Christa B. Allen's main scene was cut out, but is fortunately presented as a deleted scene on the DVD. Wow, that girl looks like a thoroughbred rich man's daughter American princess, yeah!

Here's hoping that Sloane Hanover, who has her sights set on Daniel, appears again. She would make a worthy addition.

Hey, by the way, I've noticed (starting with secretary Grace) a slew of girls who has the same kind of basically Christa B. Allen look. And in this episode, that young woman being spoken to by Conrad, and Sloane, you can see all these girls go through the same makeup artist.

Another great performance by Madeleine Stowe. Especially there where Conrad questions her after her fainting spell. Hell, it was decades ago that I saw her in movies. Time treated her very, very well. Great!
