Well-done educational video for kids
My review was written in May 1989 after watching the show on Legacy video cassette.
Beneath the garish title is an educational short program for kids about the history of dinosaurs, a popular topic for small-fry.
Chief virtue of the tape is the narration by creator Jonathan Ayre (who scripted the schlock film "Surf Nazis Must Die"), which does not talk down to the kids. It offers an interesting intro to the scientific study of the extinct beasties as well as historical insight into researchers and theories.
Visuals are rather limited, however. The models lensed at a Dallas science museum mover very stiffly onscreen and are not as impressive as animated versions would be. Show also becomes silly when Ayre has kids act out adult roles, e.g., a 19th century scientific rivalry is repped as kids having a brawl.
