But her faith, and her resolve are tested when she finds out that her prostitute daughter Candace has interwoven herself into the lives of her employer Jim Cryer and his family. Written by
I watched the first episode because Oprah had raved about it. I laughed all the way the through it, thinking it was another Tyler Perry comedy. The acting was over-the-top and I thought Perry meant it as camp comedy. I had no idea it was supposed to be taken as serious drama. Even the music was dreadful, sounding like something from another era being played on a synthesizer. The writing is the worst I have ever experienced and I have been watching television longer than most of the actors have been alive. I cannot blame the actors for over-acting because I'm certain they are simply delivering what Tyler Perry expects of them. I wish I could find one saving grace about this program but I can't. Oprah has always delivered quality programming and I sincerely hope she is not counting on this to save her network. THATHN should be experienced as a parody on soap operas and not as serious television. THEN it could be relished and enjoyed!
