Gothica (2013 TV Movie)
British actor Tom Ellis, whose most recent turn in a Stateside series was as Once Upon a Time’s original Robin Hood, has hit the bullseye by landing the lead in the USA Network pilot Rush.

Written and directed by Warm Bodies‘ Jonathan Levine, the project revolves around Dr. William Rush, an on-call doctor to the very rich and very private, those whose medical needs demand a degree of discretion. (Think: Olivia Pope meets HankMed.
The hit BBC sitcom's third series was rumoured to be its last, though star Miranda Hart has hinted that a fourth run could be in the works.
"I don't think it's the end of the journey, put it that way," Ellis - who plays Miranda's love interest Gary - said on ITV's Lorraine.
"I think there's certainly some more of the story to be told. I can't say when [another series is] going to happen, but I think it's not going to go away."
Ellis has recently been working in the Us, with roles in Once Upon a Time and the ABC fantasy pilot Gothica.
The 34-year-old actor recently split from his wife of seven years, actress Tamzin Outhwaite.
The third series of Miranda aired on BBC One between December 2012 and January 2013.

Now we have more, including not only the casting of three major characters (at least two of whom are likely familiar to you) but a lot more in the way of plot and character detail.
Although I’m completely enthusiastic and encouraging about this pilot, the fact that one of the actors, Christopher Egan, was also cast in the pilot Gothica as Dorian Gray proves that casting a pilot by no means guarantees its pickup to series.
You have been warned; get excited about this, but don’t fall in love just yet:

The supernatural action drama is based on 2010 Paul Bettany movie Legion.
Former Home and Away star Egan will play Alex Lannen, a maverick soldier who learns that he is the saviour of humanity, Deadline reports.
The 29-year-old is best known for playing Nick Smith on Australian soap Home and Away between 2000 and 2003. More recently, Egan has appeared in three TV pilots for ABC - last year's Gothica, 2012's Beauty and the Beast opposite musician and actor Darius Campbell and 2011's Poe.
Alan Dale (Lost, The Oc) will also feature in the Dominion pilot, set 25 years after the events of Legion.
Dominion will explore the aftermath of a war between angels and mankind, with Dale's character Rysen - a general in the war - now ruling over one of four surviving human cities.

The show's eight-episode first season aired last fall and was produced in partnership between UK's BBC One and Us cable network Cinemax. The BBC opted not to continue its involvement back in November of last year and the show was essentially canceled.
But Cinemax has apparently been exploring alternative ways to keep the show alive, and now Deadline is reporting "Hunted" creator Frank Spotnitz is developing the spinoff miniseries "Sam Hunter" for the network.
The four-hour event will follow the continuing adventures of George's character, private espionage agent Sam, who is on the run from her former employer while trying to protect her young daughter.
After the "Hunted" cancellation, George moved on to a starring role in ABC's horror soap pilot "Gothica," but the show was not picked up to series, freeing her up once again for "Hunted.

ABC's new legal drama will be fronted by unlikely duo Steve Coogan - yes, he of Alan Partridge fame - and Carla Gugino, best known for playing a sizzling sexpot in everything from Sin City to Spy Kids. Prison Break's Rockmond Dunbar also stars.
Coogan will make his Us television series debut in Doubt - which has sprung from the mind of House creator David Shore - as a former cop who's since taken up a new role as a low-rent lawyer,
We’ve only seen this guest star in one episode so far this season, but he left an impression – especially on Oliver’s sister Thea, whose bag he stole. Yes, Colton Haynes, formerly our favorite bad boy and sometimes kanima Jackson on Teen Wolf, now juvenile delinquent Roy Harper on The CW show, will be promoted to series regular on Arrow next season, according to Zap2It.
It’s not clear if Roy will stay a bad boy or be converted, and as fans
Excited to see that we will get to see her weekly as she has joined the cast of the ABC series Gothica.
Deadline is reporting “Melissa George has been tapped for a lead role opposite Janet Montgomery in ABC’s drama pilot Gothica. Set in the present day, the project, created by Matt Lopez and exec produced by Mark Gordon and Nick Pepper of The Mark … Continue reading →
Currently, Gothica is only at the pilot stage, so if this proposed television drama does impress ABC, it could get scrapped like so many pilots do.
This is not to be confused with the Showtime straight-to-series (no pilot required) Penny Dreadful, which features the same characters but in a Victorian London setting, that we told you about back in January. Nor is it to be confused with the modern-day I, Frankenstein movie which in turn is not to be confused with the Frankenstein movie that might have Daniel Radcliffe in it, as we reported earlier today. Don’t worry, we
Deadline reports that Gabel will play Roderick Usher, the district attorney and heir to the once-powerful Usher family who is carrying secrets, and George (pictured) will play Fiona Hunter, the series’ most formidable force, and everyone – from Grace Van Helsing (Janet Montgomery) to Dorian Gray (Chris Egan) to Victor Frankenstein (Tom Ellis) – will find their mettle and savvy tested by this deliciously cunning woman. Emma Booth joined the cast yesterday to play Frankenstein's bride, Madeline Usher.
The ABC drama pilot "Gothica," is co-produced by the ABC Studio-based Mark Gordon Co. with "Reaper" creators Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas serving as executive producers/showrunners, working alongside creator/executive producer Matt Lopez (The Sorcerer's Apprentice), who wrote the pilot.
