Bad story bad acting

Warning: Spoilers
What did I watch? I remember back in the day when Lifetime had good actors and very good movies. These days not so much.

The panic attacks were the worse acting even laughable I have ever seen lol.

A car drives by honks and she is having a panic attack good grief! She cannot even function in the world but wants to go to college. How would she even make it alone at college?

Guy is going to ask her out on a date oops another bad panic attack.

I cannot figure out why anyone would want to date her there is nothing appealing about her.

This is the most dysfunctional family I have ever seen. Lol.

Don't Waste Your Time! Acting is AWFUL Awful!
as-0100325 November 2023
I don't write movie review, but this movie made me so angry because the acting was beyond atrocious. This is easily one of the worst Lifetime movies I've ever watched solely because of the acting. Fey is beyond awful, she acts like she's either 6 or 13, not someone getting ready to go to college. Allie Forsberg cannot act to save her life. They really needed to scrap her along with some other actors and hire replacements. She's not a believable teen from her acting and also her looks. She looks way too old for this role, it's just not believable and just really off-putting with her trying to act younger, for some bizarre reason.

Also, whoever wrote the script has no working knowledge of how young adults, adults and families talk and interact with each other. The whole movie should have been scrapped because it is SO bad!

This was a painful and really hard watch. I struggled to get through it, but I wanted to see it through to the end, despite how horrid the whole movie is, to see how things played out.

Welcome to Fantasy Island!

Warning: Spoilers
We are reminded frequently that the Connally family was responsible for developing the idyllic island in the film's title. The burden falls on Frank Connally to keep up the good name of the Connally clan, and Frank even has his sights set on becoming mayor.

Sadly, it would be difficult to imagine a family more dysfunctional than the Connallys. The mother had an affair and made an attempt to flee the island. The dad is paying hush money to a woman for his own secrets. The daughter, Fey, is suffering from trauma after her best friend (and likely her lover) Maddie was killed.

Following her traumatic experience, Fey may at any moment burst out in a breathless panic attack. The oily character named Curt, who allegedly rescued Fey, in fact was responsible for killing Maddie, the beloved daughter of the sheriff. In the process, the deranged Curt also had his way with an unconscious Maddie.

In nineteenth-century melodrama, the acting in this film would probably be considered good. But by modern realistic standards, it was nearly operatic in its excess.

Somehow, some way, a film inspired by true events was turned into a soap opera of epic proportions. The plot of the film was so convoluted that even the Lifetime Uncorked website had trouble in sorting out the nuances. It is a film that must be seen to be believed.

Welcome to Fantasy Island!

Wow

Allie Forsberg... I know she's young and this was her first movie but the acting was really really bad. Maybe she's just not ready yet. The sheriff was pretty bad too, but I was surprised this was even on lifetime. I know their movies can be a bit low end, but I don't think I've ever seen acting as bad as the daughter. The storyline was okay but given the acting it was really hard to even stay on track. Oh, I also forgot to mention Zach Lane, another horrible actor. Mom and dad weren't too bad. I was unable to sleep and thought I would give this a try. But there's an hour and a half of my life I can never get back. Haha.

I'd Give This a Zero if I Could!!

This may very well be the worst movie I've ever seen. I typically like silly sappy Lifetime-style movies, they're fun and mindless!! But I've never in my life seen poorer acting, worse casting, or dumber dialogue. I laughed at serious parts of the story MANY times, because it came across as a parody or comedy. This is a total waste of time, trust me.

The family is beyond dysfunctional and unrealistic, the interactions were forced with absolutely no semblance of a family bond or affection. It was painful and really hard to watch. I wouldn't have finished it except I was typing documentation for work so I wanted something on in the background.

Highly enjoyable and quite thrilling

Finally a lifetime movie that was exciting from start to finish. This one kept me invested the entire way.

Great story and the cast did an excellent job!

This one is centered around a teenager who has severe anxiety after being attacked on a island and witnessed her friends death. Throughout the movie she begins to be convinced that something else happened on the island and sets out to find the truth. Her mother supports her, but her wealthy father isn't any help and just adds to the increasing problems.

Then we have the local boy who rescued her, but is he her savior or her captor.

Definitely not giving anything way with this one because it was so much fun to watch and see how it unfolds.

Plus the end was a pretty good thrill ride.

Highly recommend and definitely one of the way better lifetime movies out there!
