Rosa Salazar (Parenthood) has been cast in Fox‘s drama pilot Boomerang, from John Wells Prods. and Warner Bros TV. It is about the Hamiltons — parents (Anthony Lapaglia and Felicity Huffman) and grownup sons (Michael Stahl-David and Patrick Heusinger) — who serve as assassins for the federal government. Salazar, repped by Seven Summits and TalentWorks, plays Olive, the ex-girlfriend who Sam (Stahl-David) has never forgotten. The casting stems from the talent deal Fox signed with Salazar following her co-starring role on the network’s comedy pilot Little Brother last year. She recently guest starred on Fox’s Ben & Kate. Brit Ben Aldridge, repped by Anonymous and Hamilton/Hodell, rounds out the regular cast of the CW/Wbtv pilot The Selection. He plays Prince Rafe, the younger brother of Prince Maxon (Michael Malarkey) who loves his country and takes his leadership role seriously — but he does have a secret. Evie Thompson has...

The CW has tapped the offspring of another Hollywood royalty for a pilot. Maya Kazan, granddaughter of Oscar-winning director Elia Kazan, has joined Company Town. Written by Sera Gamble and directed by Taylor Hackford, the project chronicles the aftermath of a scandal at a Naval base in Virginia, which touches the lives of both civilians and military personnel in the area. The multigenerational, multi-class series centers around two early 20-something women — Krista (Gage Golightly) and Page — who grew up together, were once best friends, but now are on opposite sides of the Townie/Military divide. Kazan will play Krista’s friend Marla, a frustrated/wistful artist. Last year, the CW cast Meryl Streep’s daughter Mamie Gummer as the lead of Emily Owens, MD, while Gregory Peck’s grandson Ethan Peck co-stars in the pilot The Selection. Steve McQueen’s grandson Steven R. McQueen is on the CW’s hit series The Vampire Diaries.

I would lying if I said I didn’t watch Teen Wolf and thoroughly enjoyed it. It’s a guilty pleasure of mine. The second season in particular was a lot of fun, specfically because of the addition of Gage Golightly, also known as the awkward seizure-ridden girl who turned into a major hottie when she was given the werewolf bite. Thanks to that role, Golightly won herself a permanent place in my desktop wallpaper folder. But now her place on Teen Wolf is being threatened by her casting in a CW drama pilot. It’s not a big threat since Teen Wolf airs in the summer, but it still limits her available enough to make me worry.
