A nervous Ted receives an unexpected telephone message from The Captain, his old girlfriend Zoey's wealthy ex-husband. Ted believes The Captain called to exact his revenge against him, thus he tries to avoid The Captain's follow-up call. Ted, Robin and Lily reminisce about the last time they saw The Captain a year and a half ago at an art gallery, but each remembers the evening slightly differently. As they piece together their three stories, in there may lie the real reason The Captain got back in touch with Ted, and why that evening affected one of the three so deeply. Meanwhile, Barney, who was not there that evening, tries to infiltrate himself into Ted, Robin and Lily's individual stories, while Marshall wants Ted to reconnect with The Captain on the minute possibility that Marshall will get to sail on The Captain's boat. Did You Know?

Barney Stinson: [Ted asks Barney why he always inserts himself into any historical situations] Because crazy stories are my thing. You have architecture, Marshall has the law, Lily has art, Robin has pleasing me sexually, you all have a passion that drives you! Well, I have a passion, it's taking life and turning it into a series of crazy stories. If you can do that without me, then I don't even know who I am anymore.

Ted gets a phone call from the captain..............
28 July 2013 | by (India) – See all my reviews

a phone call from the captain makes Ted , robin and lily reminisce an art gallery opening a year ago where they met the captain. all of them have different versions of the event. Barney keeps interrupting that he was in the story, while Ted gets agitated and asks him to tell the story.different versions of story roll out each one crazier than the next. but it all leads to one question what does the captain want. the answer is in this one which leads to a greater storyline for the whole season 8 henceforth.

it was a typical himym episode full with laughs , great jokes , romance and a great plot.this was an ideal himym episode full of nutty jokes, funny references and all of it leading to a fantastic end.
