The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards are coming up this Sunday, so it's time to pore over the nominations again. The ceremony will be presided over by host Miley Cyrus, and the nominee list is littered with names like Taylor Swift, Kendrick Lamar, Beyoncé, Nicki Minaj, Ed Sheeran, and Wiz Khalifa. Nine films and eight TV projects in contention for top Awgie Awards

Nine features have been nominated for this year's Awgie Awards for performance writing.

Eight telemovies and miniseries are in contention. The Australian Writers. Guild says nominations in the 25 categories for the 48th Annual Awgie Awards reflect the abundance of outstanding work currently being produced in Australia. Nominees for best original telemovie are Steven McGregor for Redfern Now: Promise Me and Katherine Thomson for House of Hancock, while Christopher Lee.s Gallipoli and Jan Sardi and Mac Gudgeon.s The Secret River contend for best adaptation in a television miniseries. There are four nominees for original television mini-series: The Principal by Alice Addison and Kristen Dunphy; The Kettering Incident by Vicki Madden, Andrew Knight, Cate Shortland and Louise Fox; Deadline Gallipoli by Jacquelin Perske, Stuart Beattie, Shaun Grant and Cate Shortland; and Love Child: Series 2 from Tim Pye, Cathryn Strickland, Chris McCourt, Jane Allen and Tamara Asmar. Taylor Swift, Beyonce and Ed Sheeran lead the pack of 2015 MTV Video Music Awards nominations, with 10, six and five nods each, respectively. The former's summer hit "Bad Blood" (featuring another top nominee, Kendrick Lamar) and stylish vid "Blank Space -- both off of her best-selling 2014 album "1989" -- racked up noms in categories from Video Of The Year to Best Collaboration to professional category honors. The nominees for the 2015 MTV Video Music Awards were announced Tuesday, and the slate features lots of familiar faces as well as new sensations.

Superstar Taylor Swift led the pack with a whopping nine nominations, thanks to her "1989" singles "Blank Space" and "Bad Blood." English singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran scored the second-most nods, with six.

Miley Cyrus is hosting this year's festivities, which means Vma fans are in for a wild night. (As if there was any other choice for the reliably-crazy annual awards show.)

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards are scheduled for Sunday, August 30 at 9 p.m. Check out the full list of nominees -- including the mainstream awards as well as technical categories -- below.

The 2015 MTV Video Music Awards nominees were announced Tuesday morning with Taylor Swift, Beyoncé and Ed Sheeran leading the nominations.

Miley Cyrus will host the 2015 VMAs on Aug. 30. MTV will broadcast the award show live from the Microsoft Theater in downtown Los Angeles.

Starting today, fans can vote for categories such as video of the year, best male video, best female video and more on vma.mtv.com.

Aussie cast in Netflix’s Daredevil

Nikolai Nikolaeff plays a supporting role in Daredevil, the Netflix-commissioned series based on the Marvel character created by Drew Goddard.

Charlie Cox (The Theory of Everything, Boardwalk Empire) is the lead, blind lawyer Matt Murdock by day and the crime-fighting superhero Daredevil by night in the Hell.s Kitchen neighbourhood of New York City.

Nikolaeff plays Vladimir, a Russian emigrant who with his brother Anatoly (Gideon Emery) is trying to forge a name for himself in the Us. He filmed his role in New York last year but the full cast has only just been revealed.

Marvel and Netflix are proud to announce six supporting actors coming to Marvel's Daredevil, an all-new 13-episode series premiering on Netflix April 10, including two who will play fan-favorite characters from the Daredevil comic series. From the comics, Rob Morgan (Person of Interest, Believe) will play Turk Barrett (a.k.a. Mauler), a smalltime criminal in Hell's Kitchen, while Matt Gerald (Avatar, Dexter) will play Melvin Potter (a.k.a. Gladiator), a machinist caught between a rock and a hard place.

Marvel and Netflix's Daredevil has added Rob Morgan, Matt Gerald, Peter Shinkoda, Wai Ching Ho, Nikolai Nikolaeff and Gideon Emery to its cast. Out of that bunch, only two would appear to be playing established Marvel Comics characters: Rob Morgan (Person of Interest) will play small-time Hell's Kitchen criminal Turk Barret (aka Mauler), and Gerald (Avatar) will be taking on the role of Melvin Potter, also known as Gladiator, who starts out as an enemy of Matt Murdock's but later becomes an ally.
